The sooner we made the switch the faster we could start reaping the rewards , and we dealt with the how , who and where as we went along .”

Ian and I have worked pretty much every role in the sector that you could think of , between us . We can just as often be found on site as we can in the showroom . This experience between us means that we pick our products very carefully and won ’ t sell anything we wouldn ’ t buy with our own money , and as Yorkshiremen we spend that very carefully too ! Take the Decalu88 from Deceuninck for example . That is the epitome of everything we love about aluminium . Bifold doors sell themselves at the moment . But homeowners are more about the look of the product . That ’ s fine , they ’ ll be looking at it . From a fabrication and a fitting point of view though , we see it as a superior option in a market saturated with options , and installers love the pre-inserted gaskets , amongst other features . Some are doing two a day .”

“ Sustainability is – rightly so – a hot

In this industry we must all strive to make sure our own practices are energy efficient and that the products we process and provide are fit for purpose first and foremost but also that they are not having a negative impact on the future of the planet . While the recycling of PVC-u is better than it has even been before , we still believe that aluminium is a much more sustainable option for the consumer and customer , but in our own fabrication and operations too . We wear our green credentials literally on our sleeve at D & I Windows . Our logo is green and it is a daily reminder to take sustainability seriously .”
