SOFTWARE
SOLUTION MAKES A
REAL DIFFERENCE
Buying all your aluminium windows,
bi-folding, sliding, French and entrance
doors is about to become quicker and easier
than ever before.
REAL Aluminium has teamed up with top
industry software developer First Degree
Systems to design, develop and build a new
online quoting and ordering system, which
will allow installers to quote and order
REAL products anytime and anywhere when
they are online.
The launch of this new software means
that REAL Aluminium customers can take
control of their quoting and ordering and
save valuable time, increase productivity
and get what they need 24/7.
The launch of the new online quoting
and ordering system is the latest phase of
investment at REAL Aluminium to maintain
its lead within the industry. Last year, REAL
Aluminium completed a £250,000 invest-
ment programme to create an additional
23,000ft 2 aluminium factory space and fulfil
its industry-leading two-week lead time on
windows and bi-folding doors.

LIGHT GREY MAKES
A BAKER’S DOZEN
Composite door manufacturer Ap-
eer has proved an astute knowledge of
consumer preference by removing Light
Grey from its premium colour range and
incorporating it into the standard line, as of
March.
Marketing Manager Linda Tomb explains:
“Light Grey is proving to be a popular in-
side door colour choice among our custom-
ers, often complementing our darker An-
thracite Grey on the outside. After watching
the stock levels for a while and noticing a
continuing trend, the decision was made to
start supplying pre-foiled units in the shade.
Consequently, both our factory and custom-
ers benefit; we no longer need to spray the
frames, saving time, and they don’t carry an
additional paint premium.”
According to Apeer, grey is grounding,
non-committal and natural, making it an
ideal carrier for almost any other colour on
the wheel. In order to always offer optimum
pricing, Apeer plans to analyse its custom-
er colour choices on an ongoing basis; if
additional colours take off in the same vein,
there is scope for widening their standard
line of pre-foiled doors, further.
