Awards have become an industry
highlight.
Taking first place was Bridgend-
based Ewenny Home Improve-
ments. The judges were blown
away by the sheer size and scale
of the project which combined a
sleek 6x3 metre Atlas lantern with
bi-folding doors. The special Inno-
vation Award also went to Ew-
enny for an ultra-modern glazed
extension on a Cardiff property,
described as “like nothing we’ve
seen before” by the judges.
Second place went to Glass-
house Ltd who took the architect’s

now, so as soon as the opportu-
nity arose I was keen to get on
board. The fact that Made For
Trade has a strong ethos towards
developing market leading prod-
ucts gives me confidence that this
role will be an exciting and enjoy-
able one for me.”
Going forward, Jonathan’s
appointment will help ensure
the successful roll out of all MFT
products; initially in the Midlands.

In third place was Mendip Con-
servatories with an impressive 15
metre wide extension. Briefed to
create a contemporary extension for
the property, Mendip came up with
an ingenious design that seamlessly
merged a huge Atlas Skyroom with
a tiled roof extension.

GGF MENA Conference
Hailed “Great Success”
GGF’s technical team has
hosted a highly successful Architec-
tural Glazing Conference in Dubai.
The event, which attracted over
100 international delegates was
sponsored by Emirates Glass,
Gulf Glass Industries Ltd, Kur-
aray, Momentive and Filmtek and
was organised in conjunction with
Members of the GGF MENA (Mid-
dle East and North Africa) Region.
Chairman of the MENA region,
Pascoal DSilva of Gulf Glass In-
dustries (GGI) commented,
“The conference was most
worthwhile with superb pres-
entations from industry experts
who provided important technical
updates and information. All del-
egates I have spoken with found
the conference to be both enjoy-
able and highly useful for their
businesses. I would like to thank
the GGF for their participation
and support.”

Spectus fabricator, BWM of
South Wales has recently opened
a stunning retail showroom in
Pontypridd. The consumer-focused
showroom perfectly showcases the
company’s stunning range of home
improvement products including
Spectus’ casement windows, ver-
tical sliding windows and French
doors, and was officially opened by
Golfer, Ian Woosnam.
BWM’s showroom is a sophis-
ticated space with a high-quality
finish. It showcases all BWM’s
products and includes pur-
pose-built displays that allow
customers to understand ex-
actly how they will look when
installed.
Victoria Moreton of BWM said:
“Our showroom displays our
extensive range of high-quality
products. We regularly invite our
customers to our manufacturing
premises to see our craftsmanship
and expertise for themselves. The
showroom opens up another level
of exposure and means custom-
ers will also be able to see our
extensive range and understand
the quality up close.”
The consumer showroom is
open six days a week. Monday to
Friday between 9.00 – 4.00 pm
and Saturday between 9.30 – 1.00
