31 PRO INSTALLER MAY 2016 FIT SHOW 2016 A HIT AT FIT FOR CLIMATEC’S 1930S STYLE DOORS Climatec’s stand at this year’s FIT Show in Telford was bigger than its 2014 contribution and with a constant stream of visitors interested in the collection of products being showcased, the extra space was welcomed. »»Climatec set out to prove that they were ‘more than just a window’ with a collection of aluminium and PVCu windows and doors on show. A large aluminium feature window took centre stage drawing in admirers. This was a replica of a window recently fabricated for a church conversion. An eyecatching piece that invited visitors to then peruse the other four aluminium products on the stand; a bi-folding door, an aluminium casement window, a Crittal replacement window and finally a window featuring an aluminium astragal bar. A screen of two large vertical sliding windows introduced the PVCu collection which included a flush sash window, a casement with run through sash horns, a Calibre casement and tilt & turn window. The use of 50mm astragal bar offered another dimension to a PVCu window. The star of the show had to be Climatec’s 1930s style PVCu doors. Two bespoke products that were continuously photographed and talked about across the three days, with a unanimous agreement that the designs would rival the look of any traditional designed composite door. Climatec’s John Banks said: “Around six months ago I set out to design a range of traditional PVCu doors that could grace any period building and would incorporate as many authentic features as possible to replicate a true timber door. I actually had no idea the task ahead would be so demanding and the complications in hardware requirements and manufacturing methods were a large hurdle to overcome. I am however very pleased with the outcome with the two doors that we produced and displayed at the show, and also the overwhelming positive response we received. “Since returning from the show I have already started work on producing three more period door designs to add to the collection and along with our traditional mock timber window option, we plan to put together a ‘Period Range’ of products with full marketing support for our customers.” Second time round at the Fit Show has proven to be the ideal outlet for Climatec’s sales and marketing team. “There is no doubt that our attendance at this year’s FIT Show was a huge success,” said Director Phil Bates. “The numbers of visitors to our stand was far greater and the enquiries brought back to the office are very exciting. We are looking forward to bringing the Climatec Collection to the NEC for next year’s FIT Show and meeting new and exciting prospects.” www.climatec-windows.co.uk www.alu-tec.co.uk www.climatec-hi.co.uk S O L U T I O N S I N H A R D WA R E J.Banks has reported a record number of new leads and enquiries at this years FIT show.
