Northern Ireland installers Turkington
Windows has developed a reputation for
quick lead times, quality workmanship
and exceptional product choice.
Last year, however, Turkington’s management team
decided it needed help with
marketing. The team wanted
expert assistance to take
things to the next level.
Turkington called Purplex – the
industry’s full-service marketing agency, staffed by forty-plus
experts in everything from video
production to SEO.
Turkington was unhappy with
its existing website - old, generic
and not specifically focused on
either of the company’s retail or
commercial arms. After consulting
Turkington about its key business
objectives, Purplex set about constructing a fully optimised, fully
responsive best-in-class customer-focused website.
The mistake many web companies make is designing flashy,
stylish websites, and then putting
next to no information on them.
But Google likes content – websites packed with news, articles,
and useful information.
With that in mind, Purplex drew
up a content strategy, tailored to
Turkington’s products, services
and target audience. The Purplex
team of in-house copywriters,
industry experts with an extensive
knowledge of glass, glazing and
the wider construction industry,
produced blogs, news stories, advice articles, white papers, opinion
pieces and more.
Then Purplex’s Google-certified digital team worked its SEO
magic. The Turkington site was
optimised for key word density,
key word relevance and anchor
text – and then advertised to the
desired target audience through
a Purplex-managed pay-per-click
campaign.
The results were spectacular, as
Turkington sales and marketing
manager Cary Hindman attested:
“It’s a bit of a leap of faith employing a new agency for such an important project, but we’d obviously
looked into Purplex quite extensively before making our decision.
When the new website launched,
enquiries went through the roof.
We have been hugely impressed
with Purplex’s approach and the
results they have achieved. We’re
really looking forward to working
with them on other projects in the
years ahead.”

The GGF has revamped its
online Energy Savings Calculator, bringing the benefits
of the latest technical data
and a responsive, intuitive
design to this tool for consumers and industry.
The tool makes it possible to
calculate the potential energy savings a household could enjoy as
a result of installing more energy
efficient windows. The results
provided include forecasted reductions in CO2 emissions, carbon
usage and annual energy costs.
The original GGF Energy Savings
Calculator - launched over eight
years ago - was consistently one
of the most visited pages on the
GGF website, where last year
more than 100,000 consumers
sought information on buying
glass and glazing for their homes.
The new calculator is now located
on MyGlazing.com, the website
designed by the GGF specifically
for consumers.
The GGF Energy Savings Calculator is also an excellent tool for
GGF members to use as part of
the sales process. They can show
their customers how installing
windows with different Window
Energy Ratings (verified by BFRC)
will change the ongoing future
energy usage and cost savings.
James Lee, Head of GGF Group
Marketing commented: “If you
deal directly with consumers,
you can now use the consumer
friendly calculator to show your
customers approximately what
their potential future savings
could be as a result of upgrading
their windows. The beauty of this
new fully digitalised version is
the speed and ease of its functionality. It is a vast improvement
on the original and is another
digital tool that members can use
when communicating with homeowners.”

Fern follows in father’s footsteps
In line with Epwin Group’s
commitment to promoting
and developing people within
the business, the company has recently appointed
23-year-old Fern Rossano as
Trainee Business Development Manager.
Fern, who has a glowing CV, is
following in her father’s footsteps
- Nic Rossano is known to many
as Epwin’s Development Manager and has spent almost 20 years
with the company.
Sports-mad Fern, who has
travelled internationally with her
local rugby team, has focused her
competitive spirit on following her
father’s career - and maybe outdoing him. “The passion that my dad
has for his job is very inspiring.
I hope to work within the Epwin
group to gain both professional
and personal development,” Fern
said.
Fern’s previous work experience
has helped her develop strong
interpersonal skills with the
ability to multitask and manage
her time effectively. She said: “I
have a great mentor and feel very
privileged to be working with one
of the industry’s most determined
personalities. Epwin has been
instrumental in my father’s very
successful career and I am hoping
for a long and challenging career
with the group.”
Her father Nic demonstrates a
broad career in the window and
related industries, from designing
window systems in the 1970s for
retail companies to technical sales,
which has been his main focus
since the mid-1980s.
He is currently responsible for
overseeing the biggest launch in
the company’s history, two brand
new window systems. Fern and
Nic share many interests outside
work, most notably their love of
motorbikes.
