Integrating all of our software systems onto one seamless infrastructure was a major challenge we took on in 2021 . The successful implementation has meant that we have been able to improve efficiencies and can continue to deliver the very best products and service to our Partners . Innovation has always been at the heart of every decision we make , so being able to take on such a challenge was exciting for us .
This digital revolution has allowed us to gain further insight and data from right across the business , from sales and procurement to manufacturing , warehouse and delivery . We use this data to ensure we are making the most effective decisions for the business , while also helping identify sticking points within our current processes . Decisive plans can then be put in place to improve these areas .
This approach means that once a Partner confirms an order using our unique OSS system , a works order is triggered and production begins , all in real time . Any materials used are automatically deducted from stock control and subsequently reordered , replenishing what is taken without any human involvement .
Our network of more than 1,200 Partners can rest assured that because of this exceptional stock control , we will always deliver their products on time , and in full , no matter the circumstances .
The result for our Partners is they can keep their own projects on track and improve cashflow . This means they can increase the number of jobs they take on and push the limits in terms of deadlines .
Many companies within the industry are still facing major problems following the pandemic , making our strong supply chain integral to our success . This is something that will set us in good stead for many years to come .
Although it was a great undertaking , this process was essential for us to keep ahead of demand and futureproof the business . Indeed , along the way , we found that some of our processes were still manual , with others using multiple systems , so channelling these different processes into one programme was vital .
The time and effort this project involved , from Origin ’ s Director of Business Analytics , Lee Ann Mounter , who pioneered the transition , through to every member of the Origin team who helped implement it , will allow our Partners to grow their businesses alongside us .
As we progress through 2022 , we are excited to see how the project we first started amidst a pandemic , Brexit , supply shortages , and a demand surge , will continue to drive innovation and efficiency throughout the business .

Fenestration database hits over 20,000

Following an intensive period of investigation from Insight Data ’ s research team , the firm ’ s nationwide fenestration database has now surpassed a remarkable 20,000 decision-maker contacts .
These 20,000 contacts all hold senior positions within 13,800 fabricators and installers that make up the fenestration database , giving suppliers into the glass and glazing sector unprecedented market intelligence .
Alex Tremlett , Operations Manager at Insight Data , commented : “ While the number of fabricators and installers has continued to decline over the past few years , which is partly down to factors such as Brexit and the pandemic , the Insight research team has successfully managed to increase the number of decision maker contacts we hold . Essentially , all the key information you need to see if a company is a worthwhile prospect is at your fingertips , helping our clients make better business decisions .”
Like all of Insight ’ s databases , the fenestration database is accessed through Salestracker , an online CRM platform with more than has over 700 users that includes a host of features including integration with Google Maps and a powerful email marketing platform .
