INSTALLER LEAPS AHEAD WITH REAL ALUMINIUM

Investment continues with new bar bending machine

After kicking off the New Year with the purchase of yet another Stuga machining centre, master fabricator Astraseal has now made two further machinery investments. The Wellingborough-based firm has increased production in its glass factory with the addition of a brand-new, high-performance bar bender and a smart desiccant filler.

A shrewd installer has more than doubled the rate of aluminium installations it completes after leaping ahead with REAL Aluminium.
The Conservatory and Window Company has taken advantage of REAL Aluminium’ s comprehensive aluminium package and upped turnover by at least 20 % in less than two years. Aluminium now accounts for around 40 % of the Bristol-based installer’ s work.
The Conservatory and Window Company predominantly offered PVCu products and decided to expand by introducing aluminum into its range to make the most of growing demand.
AM 01 semi-automatic rack, allows Astraseal to bend aluminium, steel and warm-edge spacer bar every 28 seconds. The machine optimises Astraseal’ s sealed unit production through its innovative, universal head. This eliminates time-consuming tool changes and means Astraseal can bend an impressive 1,000 bars on a single nine-hour shift.
Completing Astraseal’ s hat-trick of machinery investments is the intelligent DF502 desiccant filler.
Since working with REAL Aluminium, the firm has gained access to a wealth of fenestration products
The DF502 brings ultimate precision to Astraseal’ s operation, by automatically drilling the corner holes, filling the spacer bar with the specified ratio of desiccant and then sealing the openings ready for application. within the range, including windows, bi-folding doors, sliding doors, French doors, residential doors, flat rooflights and lantern roofs.
Designed to make sourcing aluminium easy, REAL Aluminium provides a comprehensive showroom and award-winning sales and marketing support package to help installers to leap into aluminium and begin selling the most extensive range aluminium windows, doors and roofs available from a single supplier.

HERITAGE LOOKS WITH THERMAL BOON

The British heritage appearance of the Optima Flush Casement Window offers traditional features such as a putty line sash, a traditional wide bottom sash rail, slim depth sashes plus the option of a partly or fully mechanically jointed finish.
While the appearance may be of a heritage period, the construction is anything but. The system offers better thermal performance than its rivals( U-values as low as 1.2W / m2K can be achieved). It surpasses the requirements of UK and EU Building Regulations and PAS24 on all options.
Because the Flush Casement Window is part of the Optima system, it’ s been designed for the 21st century from the ground up and is packed with a wealth of benefits for fabricators and installers.
It seems that the quality of the Profile 22 Flush Casement Window is being reflected in its sales, which are up 500 % year on year.

Pivotal year helps set records

Michele Wietscher, Director at Newview Windows and Conservatories.
A Worthing-based home improvement company has reported a tenth consecutive year of growth and said that a pivotal number of contract wins in 2017 has put the business in a position of strength moving forward.
In the year up to January 2018, Newview Windows and Conservatories saw forward work climb from £ 4.2 million to £ 6.5 million – a 55 per cent increase – thanks to
a rise in the number of retail and commercial contracts the company has won recently.
During this period Newview also saw staff numbers rise to over 50 and the business commenced a major contract win with London City Airport.
The company won the contract to install noise-reducing windows on homes around London City Airport and has employed Gary Ward to head up the project.
London City Airport recently gained permission to begin its £ 400m expansion programme.
The expansion will involve extending a terminal, constructing seven new aircraft stands, and adding a parallel taxiway. The programme is expected to take around four years to complete and residents have been offered sound-proofed windows to minimise the disruption.
