Research conducted by Opinium online with 504 UK SME decision makers between 24th – 31st October 2016.
John Wilde, managing director of Amicus Commercial Finance, commented:“ Our research shows that most small firms recognise the damage caused by cashflow problems but that doesn’ t guarantee their immunity. The worst case
scenario is insolvency but in our experience, slow paying invoices are often to blame. As working capital and cashflow are by their very nature dynamic, most traditional systems have failed to keep pace over the last few years.

VANS SAVE HUNDREDS IN DIESEL

Newcastle upon Tyne-based MRM Solutions has taken another big step towards its goal of a fleet totally comprising Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Less than a year after it commissioned its first two Mercedes-Benz vans, the company has been supplied with another five mid-sized Vito models and a small Citan by north-east dealer Bell Truck and Van. Their arrival means that 18 of MRM’ s 25 vans are now by Mercedes- Benz.
MRM Solutions, which also has offices in Glasgow and Sheffield, offers a portfolio of services based around TV, audio-visual, fire and security systems. It also undertakes general electrical work.
Of MRM’ s six Vito Compacts, four are 111 CDIs used by installation engineers who carry additional equipment and make full use of the larger vehicle’ s higher load capacity.
Key to the operator’ s decision to switch suppliers was the round-the-clock backup from Bell Truck and Van, and other members of the Mercedes-Benz dealer network. MRM managing director Michael Muxworthy said:“ We’ d been having some major issues and suffering a lot of unplanned vehicle downtime at the time we approached Bell, and they were able to give us the customer service reassurances we were seeking.
“ The vans are also very economical. I would estimate they’ re saving us a couple of hundred pounds a week on our diesel bill.”
