Creative solutions for a lifetime

Buckinghamshire-based fabricator Roseview has added Lifetime Homes to the long list of industry standards its products can meet.
The Lifetime Homes initiative has for 25 years been ensuring that new-build properties are accessible for people throughout their lifetimes, from youth to old age. To achieve the accreditation, handles on the windows must be no-more than 1200mm above the floor level so disabled homeowners and wheelchair users can operate them with ease. Achieving this on a sash window has traditionally been trickier, largely due to its classic vertical-sliding design.

“ The unemployment rate is now at its lowest in over a decade, but wage growth remains subdued by historical standards,” the ONS said in its commentary.
Wage growth slowed from the 2.8 % rate seen in the three months to November. That still outpaced the rise in household prices, but the gap between them narrowed. FORTY YEARS AT THE TOP

Pontefract fabricator Dempsey Dyer is turning 40 – and the company is celebrating leading the way in premium-quality timber and PVCu windows and doors.
Founded in 1977 by brothers Tom and Bob Dyer, the business began life as a
Yorkshire joinery producing timber doors and windows for local installers. It wasn’ t long before the company diversified, beginning to offer PVCu products alongside its established timber portfolio. By 1984, it had switched its PVCu supplier to Deceuninck – laying the foundations of a close, mutually beneficial relationship that’ s endured to the present day.
In 2017, the business’ s timber range places emphasis on sustainability, using ethically sourced hardwoods and following a‘ Durability by Design’ philosophy.
The Deceuninck offering comprises both the 2500 and 2800 series profile systems, and the company also offers the Beaumont range.“ We’ re extremely proud of our history as a long-standing, family-run business at a time when that’ s becoming increasingly rare,” commented managing director Peter Dyer, son of co-founder Tom.
