much shorter and more efficient supply chain,” he says.“ Installers are dealing directly with the fabricator, which means better product knowledge, quicker answers and a more responsive service overall.”
By reducing unnecessary layers between manufacturing and supply, Chigwell Window Centre Plc believes it can offer installers greater consistency alongside more competitive pricing and stronger technical support.
Kevin also believes there is a growing demand within the Reading area for a trade-focused operation that combines product availability with genuine technical understanding.
“ There are plenty of places selling products,” he explains.“ But installers increasingly want support from people who actually understand the systems, the regulations and the realities of being on site. That’ s where we believe CWC Trade-Direct will stand out.”
For installers, that direct relationship also creates greater confidence around lead times, specifications and aftersales support; areas that continue to play a

Partnerships That Deliver
At the centre of Chigwell Window Centre Plc’ s product offering are its long-standing relationships with REHAU, Smart and Schüco.
Together, those partnerships allow the business to offer a broad range of PVCu and aluminium systems suited to both residential and commercial applications, while maintaining consistency in quality, performance and specification.
For Kevin, those supplier relationships have become a major part of the company’ s long-term growth strategy.
“ Our partnerships with REHAU, Smart and Schüco are hugely important to the business,” he says.“ We work closely together across multiple levels, from product development and technical support through to machinery investment and future planning.”
That collaboration has also supported continued investment within the manufacturing side of the business, with Chigwell Window Centre Plc committing heavily to new fabrication technology

and specialist machinery as demand continues to evolve. Kevin believes those investments are essential not only for supporting future growth, but also for maintaining the standards and consistency installers expect from the business.
Heritage Meets Performance
One of the latest additions to the company’ s portfolio is Layla Timber Style, developed in partnership with REHAU and designed to meet growing demand for more authentic heritage-style PVCu systems.
As homeowner preferences continue to evolve, Kevin says demand for timber-style products has shifted significantly over recent years, particularly around authenticity of appearance.
“ There’ s definitely been a noticeable change in what customers are looking for,” he explains.“ The appearance of the joints, the detailing and the colour choices have all become much more important. Homeowners still want the practical benefits of PVCu, but visually they want something that feels much closer to traditional timber.”
|
Kevin points to the growing popularity of cottage-style finishes such as Agate Grey, Pebble Grey and Turner Oak as evidence of that shift, giving installers alternatives to the anthracite grey systems that have dominated the market in recent years.
Layla Timber Style was developed specifically to respond to those changing preferences while remaining practical and straightforward for installers to work with.
Chigwell Window Centre Plc now believes it is the only fabricator manufacturing and supplying the REHAU Rio 70 system with timber-style joints across the complete system, including casement windows, flush doors and single and double doors.
To support production, the company invested in a dedicated timber-weld machine alongside advanced graph-weld technology, helping ensure a consistently high-quality finish while maintaining the durability and low-maintenance benefits associated with modern PVCu systems.
Response from both homeowners and installers has been extremely positive.
“ We had incredible feedback from the public at Grand Designs,” Kevin says.“ But equally, the response from installers and trade customers has been really strong because the system gives them something genuinely different to offer.”
Importantly, compatibility with familiar REHAU platforms also allows the system to integrate naturally into existing installation processes without introducing unnecessary complexity on site.
Focused on Growth
While Reading represents the first stage of expansion outside Chigwell Window Centre Plc’ s established South East territory, Kevin makes clear that the business has no intention of stopping there.
|
“ There’ s definitely an appetite to continue growing the trade counter side of the business,” he says.“ Reading is the first step, but we’ re already looking at what future expansion could look like.” That growth is expected to include a combination of further regional trade counters, continued product development and potential entry into additional sectors such as fire doors and fire-rated window systems.
At the same time, Kevin believes the company’ s long-term success will continue to depend on maintaining the qualities installers value most from a fabrication partner: consistency, reliability, technical knowledge and responsive support.
“ In a competitive market, installers want confidence in the company they’ re dealing with,” he explains.“ They want to know the products will arrive when promised, that the quality will be consistent and that if they need support, there’ s somebody knowledgeable at the end of the phone who can help quickly.”
Those principles remain central to the wider direction of the business as Chigwell Window Centre Plc continues to expand.
“ The launch of CWC Trade-Direct represents another major milestone in our long-term growth strategy,” says Dean Floyd, Chairman of Chigwell Group.“ We are committed to investing in the future of the business, expanding our regional presence and delivering exceptional service and value to our trade partners.”
With stronger regional infrastructure, continued investment in products such as Layla Timber Style and established partnerships with REHAU, Smart and Schüco, Chigwell Window Centre Plc is entering its next phase of growth with a clear focus on supporting installers across both existing and emerging markets.
