GLAZERITE’S HERITAGE
CHOICE GETS BIGGER AND
BETTER FOR INSTALLERS
As the aesthetics and authenticity of heritage-style windows continues to improve, consumer
appetite and planning officer approval – even in conservation areas - is growing.
So how does a leading fabricator
like Glazerite decide what
heritage-style products to offer
its installers? “It’s all based on
giving our installer partners a
great choice to offer their own
customers,” says Group Sales and
Marketing Director, Jeff Dunn.
“Having a range of styles and
profile systems for every level
of customer budget is key, as is
authentic detailing, right down to
the colour choice and hardware
available.”
Glazerite’s range includes three
different Flush Sash options; the
mechanically jointed Residence
9, which has been designed to
match the stringent Article 4
planning guidelines for conservation
areas and is available in
11 colours; Residence 7, which
has decorative beading, 14 colour
options and sits just as perfectly
in contemporary new builds
as it does in period properties,
and the Halo Flush Sash, which
combines traditional styling with
modern performance, and is
available in the Variations range.
Like the R9 and R7, Halo authentically
replicates timber, with
the added benefits uPVC brings.
Though R7 and Halo Flush
Sash are currently offered with
welded joints, Glazerite is shortly
introducing a Timber Weld option
on both, giving installers and
their customers an even greater
choice.
In addition to its flush sash
range, Glazerite also offers the
Imagine Vertical Sliding Sash
window, which is the fastest
growing alternative choice of
uPVC window style, thanks to
its replication of the traditional
timber sash. Available with fine
horn detailing, the VS can also be
produced mechanically jointed
for added authenticity, and benefits
from careful engineering and
smooth operation.
The classic and intricate styling
of every product in Glazerite’s
heritage range is complemented
by hardware from Fab&Fix, including
the Monkey Tail and Tear
Drop handles and window stays
for Flush Sash, and stylish cam
locks for the VS.
“Using modern materials
instead of wood appeals to
homeowners thanks to the stellar
security performance, energy
efficiency and low maintenance
nature of uPVC. Combined with
stunning aesthetics and colours,
the heritage choices we offer are
more than a match for timber,”
says Jeff.
Demand for heritage windows
and doors has been steadily
growing in recent years and as
the fabrication process is more
manually intensive, Glazerite has
a dedicated Specials Division in
Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
where they carry out the
intricate craftmanship required
on heritage products.
In addition to its heritage
window collection, Glazerite
also offers its installers a range
of composite doors from leading
brands Doorco, Palladio and
Solidor. Traditional styles such as
the Ludlow and the London from
Solidor offer the finishing touches
for any heritage installation, with
a range of authentic colours and
finishes like decorative glass.
Jeff believes working with suppliers
who are open to introducing
and enhancing products to
meet consumer trends is key for
any fabricator and their installers.
“We want to ensure our installers
can stand out from their competitors,
and meet the demands of
consumers keen to experiment
with heritage styles in newer
homes, or replace original timber
installations in period houses.
“As a fabricator, the range
of products we have available
means they’ll never lose out on a
job through lack of specification
and we can further enhance that
offering with our 10 year comprehensive
guarantee.”
What sets Glazerite apart further
is the business support on
offer to its installers. “We support
our installer partners with bespoke
marketing. For the heritage
range, we have a range of marketing
materials they can use as
their own, including drop cards,
brochures and banner stands.
We also work with a number of
our customers on social media
content for use across their own
channels,” adds Jeff.
