The Kardashians, Judge Judy
and Fireman Sam: FENSA Enlists
a Little Help for its Members
FENSA has announced fur-
Raising the Profile of
Fire-Resistant Glazing
FIREX International returns
to ExCeL London on 18-20 June
2019. FIREX International will host
130 exhibitors from all over the
world at ExCeL London and the
GGF will be exhibiting at stand
number FX715 – a 30m2 space sit-
uated in a prime central position
near the entrance of the show. Vis-
itors to the GGF stand will see live
glass exhibits showing the before
and after effects of fire, heat and
smoke on glass. In addition, the
GGF will have video demonstra-
tions and a live speaking slot in
the Seminar programme.
The exhibition is completely
free to attend and here are some
of the other things visitors can
expect from Europe’s only event
dedicated to fire safety…
ther details of the extensive ‘All
the Proof You Need’ TV campaign
it launched in early March. The
campaign is designed to make
homeowners aware of the im-
portance of obtaining a FENSA
certificate to ensure their windows
and doors are compliant as well
as emphasising the importance
of appointing a FENSA Approved
installer to fit them.
The advertisement, which will
run until the end of 2019, will be
shown across the UK on a range
of carefully targeted TV channels
that will provide more than 190
million ‘impacts’, the figure that
refers to the number of unique
viewings of the advertisement.
Now FENSA has announced the
programmes that its ground-break-
ing advertisements will be shown
against, with a schedule that
includes Keeping Up with the
Kardashians, Judge Judy and Fire-
man Sam. Others include Hairy
Bikers Best of British, Escape to
the Country and The Great British
Bake Off in addition to dozens
of other popular special interest
programmes.
The wide ranging campaign,
the first of its kind to hit the UK
home improvement market, is
designed to reach home improvers
at every level and with a diverse
range of viewing habits across a
TV schedule that runs throughout
the day and evening, seven days a
week. Screening times vary, again
to provide maximum coverage and
impact.
Trade advertising and public
relations, a significant presence at
the FIT Show, regional roadshows,
social media and other industry
presentations are reinforcing the
TV campaign.

cator Scotia Windows and Doors
has moved into an expansive new
factory in Kilmarnock, with even
greater capacity to serve trade cus-
tomers across Scotland. Supported
by two trade centres in Alloa and
Hamilton, the company is well
placed to provide Halo’s indus-
try-leading PVCu systems to an
even greater number of discerning
trade and commercial customers.
Scotia’s MD Robert McKnight
explains: “We’ve now moved into
our fantastic new purpose-built
production facility and head office
in Kilmarnock. The site covers
59,000 sq ft and we’ve invested in
two new state-of-the-art front end
cutting machines to add to our
existing window and door man-
ufacturing machinery and all this
equipment is now fully installed in
the bigger, better building.
“We have taken the opportuni-
ty to streamline the production
process which will enable us to
achieve greater efficiencies, and
this capacity means we can likely
increase production to 1,600 PVCu
frames per week.
“We are extremely proud of the
significant growth of our business.
Scotia works in partnership with
housing associations, property de-
velopers, building firms, installers
and more. We now have the capac-
ity to support even more custom-
ers, and continue supporting them
as they grow too.
“Scotia Windows and Doors has
been using Halo since our compa-
ny was founded 35 years ago, and
the quality of this profile has been
part and parcel of our success.
We rely on Halo (and VEKA UK
Group) for exceptional products
and service, and that means Scotia
customers can rely on us for the
same.”
