The hire department of builders’ merchant Selco has expanded across its UK network – and has marked the achievement by taking a place on the grid for the British Superbikes Championship in 2016.
Following a successful trial, Selco Hire is now available in all 41 branches of Selco Builders Warehouse, with tradesmen able to hire many thousands of products in a simple and cost effective manner. Selco is committed to including its hire offering in all new branches opening around the UK as it undergoes a rapid expansion programme over the coming years. As part of a partnership with Evolution Waste Management, which assists Selco with skip hire, Selco Hire has secured its logo on the bike of the Moto Rapido Ducati team for the MCE Insurance British
Superbikes Championship season. The team is preparing for its seventh season in British Superbikes and will be spearheaded by talented 22-year-old Danny Buchan, who won the 2014 National Superstock 1000 Championship title. Iain Hopcroft, team manager of Moto Rapido Ducati, said:“ We are thrilled to have linked up with Selco Hire for what is a huge season for us. There is a real air of excitement about all 12 rounds of the season.“ The team is excited and Danny is really looking forward to getting going. The pace in pre-season testing is good and we know that Danny is capable of competing at the front end of races
following his achievements in the Superstock.” The link between Winchester-based Moto Rapido Ducati and Selco Hire was officially launched at the Southampton branch of Selco Builders Warehouse. CHARITY GOAL FOR BOND IT

Staff from Bond It have helped raise money for a worthy cause. A team drawn from across the manufacturer of sealants, adhesives and building chemicals took part in a five-a-side football tournament for Bond It’ s chosen charity, Overgate Hospice.
Located in Elland, West Yorkshire, close to Bond It’ s head office and main manufacturing site, Overgate Hospice provides specialist palliative care to adults suffering from progressive, life-limiting illnesses. To ensure its care is as widely accessible as possible, the hospice- which celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2016- delivers its service free of charge.
It is funded largely by the local community with some additional support from the NHS. In total, 15 teams from locally based businesses took part in the three-hour tournament. The Bond It team finished second overall. They lost in the final to RSA Insurance who took away the Overgate Hospice Trophy. Speaking of the company’ s support, Graham Helm, operations director at Bond It, said:“ Bond It has been an on-going supporter of
Overgate Hospice for a number of years and our participation in the charity football tournament continues that relationship. This reflects a strong belief in corporate social
responsibility which is all part and parcel of Bond It’ s wider quality focused approach.” The football tournament helped raise over £ 1,000 for the hospice
which will be used towards running costs.
