NICKIE WEST REVIEWS FIT SHOW 2022 SUCCESS & LOOKS AHEAD TO 2023

We caught up with FIT Show event director , Nickie West to hear her review of FIT Show 2022 and find out what we can look forward to when the show returns for its ten year anniversary next May .
How did FIT Show deliver in terms of numbers for 2022 ?
It is important to preface this response with a reminder that the FIT Show numbers for 2022 have been delivered against the backdrop of extremely challenging global and market conditions .
FIT Show was due to be relaunched in 2020 , then again in 2021 before being postponed two further times . Alongside tough global conditions , the fenestration and wider home improvement industry have faced mounting supply chain issues coupled with demand outstripping supply .
The campaign has had to work harder than ever to retain its audience for three years , retain brand loyalty , convince people that it was safe to return to FIT Show and re convince them of the benefits of attending the event . With this in mind , I was absolutely delighted with the visitor
registration and conversion figures , which saw 9,473 attend the show over the three days . The current published industry average conversion rate for exhibition visitors is 35 % and we achieved a massive 58 % so I am really pleased with how our delayed 2021 event performed this May .
Our exhibitors reported that they received a steady flow of quality leads , more than they expected in some cases , and that speaks volumes . The fact that so many brands signed up on site to exhibit again in 2023 reinforces the show ’ s success .
What were your FIT Show 22 highlights ?
It was fantastic to see so many people waiting outside the halls to come in on the opening morning and there was a real buzz across the halls throughout the build up .
The quality of the stands was another highlight . Our exhibitors pulled out all of the stops to deliver a first class showcase . The VEKA VIP stand looked incredibly smart , I loved what they did with the FIT 2 Fly branding and the space was very well attended . The show looked amazing which made for a brilliant visitor experience .
Our late night event was a huge success and I believe that reinforced just how ready everyone was to get back to face-to-face . We received amazing support from the likes of PiGs , Doorco , KUBU , Insight Data and Purplex who pulled out all of the stops with their parties . Lots of people have told me that this was their favourite late night at FIT Show , and I am excited to build upon it for 2023 .
But above all else , I was delighted to be able to bring the industry back together at its main event after so long . I saw so
many friendly faces , old and new to FIT Show . We couldn ’ t have asked for better support .
Which show features proved most popular ?
We were really pleased with how well received our new outdoor living feature was , and we ’ ve already secured support from exhibitors to build on this in 2023 . This feature was launched to reflect the changing needs of the market , which saw a surge in demand from homeowners throughout the pandemic .
Smart tech was also a big hit this year . We had anticipated that there would be a greater showing of these products and solutions in 2022 , but exhibitors such as KUBU , SmartReady , Brisant Secure really took things to the next level . I ’ m excited to see how this grows again for 2023 .
