Steve continued : “ With all the players back at the clubhouse , it was the perfect opportunity to officially thank all the players and participants . Our main sponsors of the day - Chigwell Window Centre - entered a team but we were also pleased that Sunny and Dean joined us for the event , even as non-golfers . We ’ d like to thank them for their sponsorship , prize donations and participation in the auction .
“ We had the idea for the raffle and auction to make the evening even more special , raise more money for charity and have some fun in the process . Once again , we were blown away with the generosity of the prizes that were donated and with the bids that were made during the auction . As you ’ ll see some of the prizes really are once-in-a-lifetime and even the Clearview team couldn ’ t resist bidding on some of them ; it was all fair and square though !”
With the sporting prizes announced and awards handed out , the event shifted gear - and for many this was something that had been highly anticipated all day . Prior to the event taking place , all participating teams were asked to bring along a prize for the charity raffle and auction . A table was set up in the morning and was filled with pledges ranging from sporting equipment and memorabilia - golf bags , a GPS watch , international football shirt and a signed Mark Cavendish jersey , to money-can ’ t buy golf day experiences giving bidders a chance to return to Hickleton , enjoy a two-night break in the Lake District and even experience the home of golf - St Andrews . In addition to these , wine-tasting in Holmfirth , a tandem sky

dive plus hospitality tickets to Wembley , Arsenal and Leicester were all up-for-grabs plus shopping vouchers and smart handles ; there really was something for everyone .
The format of what would happen next was simple - anyone would wanted to enter the raffle could do so by adding a donation to the envelope on their place setting . Donations were made on an individual basis - not per company - and a pledge of their choice ( the amount was kept secret ) meant that every envelope would go into the raffle .

to raise vital funds for GM Fundraising ; Gary Morton took a moment before the raffle and auction commenced , to thank the organisers , sponsors and players for the day , explain more about the charity and its work , and kickstart the raffle . After this , Steve of Clearview hosted the proceedings - with a few surprise guests in between - depending on which prize was up for grabs .
All-in-all the final amount raised more than £ 12,000 for GM Fundraising ; firmly setting the Clearview Golf Day as an annual event for all involved , but can Quickslide retain the title ?

Steve concluded : “ After a twoyear hiatus of shows and expos , we couldn ’ t wait to host something for our friends and customers . We thought golf would be a great get-together , in the fresh air and some friendly competition . The added element of raising some money for charity was the cherry on top , and being able to donate more than £ 12,000 to GM Fundraising rounded off the day perfectly , along with a great opportunity to meet old friends and network with new ones ! We cannot thank everyone enough for getting involved , travelling to Hickleton , and digging deep |
when it came to donations ; here ’ s to the next one .”
