THE INDUSTRY CONFERENCE
YOU CAN’T AFFORD TO MISS
After a successful FIT Show, the industry now turns its attention to the next
‘must attend’ event in the glass and glazing calendar – the Glazing Summit.
Organised by two of the biggest names in the industry, Purplex and Insight
Data, it takes place on Thursday, September 12 at Edgbaston Stadium and
Conference Centre, Birmingham. Andrew Scott, founder of the Glazing
Summit and CEO of glazing industry specialists Insight Data and Purplex
Marketing, explains why this year’s Glazing Summit will be bigger and better.
After attracting 400 busi-
ness leaders from across the glass
and glazing industry, not to men-
tion 1 million Twitter impressions,
the Glazing Summit is back.
And after such a successful de-
but, we just had to do it again.
The industry had never had a
major business conference but
as the market has matured and
become more professional, a
platform for CEO’s and business
leaders to come together, learn
and share information has become
so important.
Last year we provided a power-
ful forum for fabricators, installers,
glass companies, distributors and
material suppliers to come togeth-
er and discuss key industry issues
and trends.
And we want to again give del-
egates the inside track on what is
really going on and equip industry
leaders with the knowledge and
tools to confidently plan for the
future.
It really is a must-attend event
for senior people across all sectors
of the industry - domestic, trade,
commercial, new-build and social
housing.
The glazing industry is a mul-
ti-billion-pound industry that has
more than 15,000 businesses, em-
ploys tens of thousands of people
and is an incredible industry to be
a part of - we want to keep it that
way.
The biggest names
The Glazing Summit was a land-
mark event and broke new ground
last year and, with this year’s event
promising to be bigger and better,
we’ve already had some massive
names from our sector come on
board.
The Glass and Glazing Federa-
tion (GGF) are headline sponsors,
while industry giant Yale will be
sponsoring the new Tech Talk
stage.
Our VIP Leaders Dinner, which
rounds things off in the evening,
is being sponsored by Unique
Window Systems Limited and ODL
Europe are sponsoring the Drinks
Reception.
Numerous other major brands
have joined a line-up of event
partners to support the confer-
ence, including Edgetech, who
were the first company to come on
board, CAB, The Residence Collec-
tion (Window Widgets), Window
Ware, Shelforce, Improveasy and
Hodgson Sealants.
It’s clear from the calibre of
names we have signed up already
that the Glazing Summit is some-
thing that the industry wants. try, including respected industry
leaders, trailblazers and proven

head-on, including best practice,
growth, profitability and consoli-
dation.
Discover why some companies
are struggling while others are
growing fast and get the inside
track on where the industry is
going, where the opportunities are
and how to maximise growth and
profitability.
And running alongside the main
stage this year will be the new
Tech Talks stage.
The key issues While there is a buffet lunch
and plenty of networking opportu-
nities with industry leaders during
the day, the event ends perfectly
with the Glazing Summit Leaders
Dinner.
It brings together around 250
of the industry’s most influential
business owners, directors, CEO’s
and senior managers for an exclu-
Last year, 23 expert speakers
took to the stage to talk about a
variety of key industry topics, in-
cluding the skills shortage, innova-

There will be no awards or
presentations, no black tie, just an

influential and visionary leaders,

The best venue
An event such as this needs a
venue befitting of it, and we feel
the world-renowned Edgbaston
Stadium and Conference Centre in
Birmingham is perfect.
Located in the heart of Birming-
ham, it will provide our visitors
with a great experience and has
more than 400 car parking spaces
on site with free parking for all
Glazing Summit delegates.
The Edgbaston Banqueting Suite
is also the perfect backdrop for
the Leaders Dinner.
It promises to be a wonderful
event that’s not to be missed.
