5. PURe® genius
If you’ve been looking for low
U-value aluminium windows
and doors, you have probably
come across Senior’s PURe®
range but did you know that it
is the first on the UK market
to benefit from an enhanced
thermal barrier manufactured
from expanded polyurethane
foam (PUR) which is tradi-
tionally used in cladding and
insulation products? Senior
was awarded a UK patent for
its PURe® system in 2016 and
is looking to add new prod-
ucts to range in the next few
months – watch this space…
4. As seen on TV
The popularity of Senior’s windows, doors and curtain walling
systems has seen them used on a variety of different buildings
across a variety of different sectors, meaning you never have to
look too far to see the company’s products in action. Every now
and again, you can also spot Senior’s products on TV, particu-
larly on property renovation programmes such as ‘Grand De-
signs’. Members from Senior’s architectural advisory team have
also been busy over the last few months providing products and
support for a forthcoming ‘DIY SOS: Big Build’ special that will
be aired over the summer.
6. Going green
As well as developing energy-efficient glazing solutions, Senior
is committed to reducing its own carbon footprint and a trip to
Senior’s HQ will show you just a few of the initiatives in place.
Recent investments include an in-house PUR processing line, a
more efficient grey water system to recycle water used in man-
ufacture and a new £150k waste reducing powder coating line
which is the most environmentally efficient of its kind, saving
over 22 tonnes per year of product being sent to landfill.
7. Community spirit
When Senior is not developing new product innovations and sustainable man-
ufacturing techniques to help protect the environment, it is looking at ways to
improve its local community. From sponsoring local sports clubs and events to
meeting up with MPs and Government advisors to discuss the importance of the
manufacturing industry to the local economy, Senior takes its responsibilities
as a major employee in the South Yorkshire area very seriously. The company is
also proactively involved with a number of local schools, helping to address the
skills shortage by offering work experience placements and raising the profile of
the fenestration and construction industry through various events. One such
event saw Senior team up with a local high school to run a special art competition
where pupils created designs for ‘Buildings of the Future’, resulting in the creation
of some inspirational artwork that is now proudly on display at Senior’s HQ.
