JULY 2018 | 19 News Read online at www.proinstaller.co.uk ATLAS HELPS CUSTOMERS SPEED UP INSTALLATIONS An Atlas installer has proved that you don’t always need to go be- spoke when it comes to roof lanterns – you can achieve spectacular, and fast results, by using stock sized lanterns too. Chip- penham-based installer Vision Conservatories has just completed a triple Atlas lantern installation in record time by opting for standard sized lanterns. Incredibly, the lanterns were available from stock in just five days and installed in the space of a day. The owners of the prop- erty visited Vision Con- servatories’ showroom and were immediately impressed with the slim sightlines of the Atlas lantern on dis- play. Having found that no other lantern now lived up to their expectation, they asked Vision to design a spacious new extension that would incorporate the Atlas lanterns that they’d fallen for. Vision persuaded the homeowner to choose a super-slim contemporary lantern for the centre of the extension and two regular Atlas lanterns to sit either side of it. The bespoke look of the extension has captured the attention of homeowners in the neighbourhood and many were intrigued to see the finished result. FENSA, the UK’s largest and longest established Competent Person Scheme, issues FENSA Building Regulations certificates for replacement windows and doors that have been in- stalled since 1st April 2002. A FENSA certificate veri- fies that an installation has been carried out by a FEN- SA registered installer, and consequently that it com- plies with building regula- tions. As well as providing the homeowner with peace of mind about their installa- tion, the certificate will be a necessity if they wish to sell their property. Now homeowners and installers are set to benefit from an accelerated certifica- tion system. Acting on feed- back from FENSA members as well as their customers, FENSA will soon introduce a new process that streamlines certificate dispatch times and gets them in homeowners’ hands faster. As a result, FENSA ex- pects to see a reduction in the number of homeowners asking installers for their certificate, saving its mem- bers time on administration. Homeowners will also re- ceive their FENSA certifi- cates more than 50% faster than they currently do. www.ggf.org.uk APEER GEARS UP FOR GROWTH As part of ongoing plans for growth and expansion in 2018, leading composite door manufac- turer Apeer has heavily invested in its Ballymena factory with the addition of three new machines. “This investment in machinery forms just part of a wider pro- gramme of improvements being made to our factory, production processes and general infra- structure,” explains Managing Director Asa McGillian. “There is a definite focus on improving our production capacity this year and with the purchase of three new machines we are some way towards achieving our target. We had the SCM Accord 25 with 5-axis installed in January and the addition of this CNC machine has already helped increase our door production.” Also aiding this increase is the addition of a new spray booth and infrared curing oven. After experi- encing a notable surge in demand for coloured doors, especially two tone doors, the company has in- vested in a third spray booth to en- sure that they continue to manufac- ture within lead times and without any compromise on quality. www.apeer.co.uk
