The family run company is managed by brothers Paul and Kieran Hand, who have over 30 years manufacturing experience. Fixglaze rooflight system is designed and manufactured totally in-house at 1st Glass Roofs’ 4200 sq ft manufacturing site, in Alton, Hampshire and offers customers a variety of custom-made size variations to suit homeowners individual needs. Kieran Hand, Manager, said: “We are very excited about the new product; it is a high performance fixed rooflight that looks great and offers ease of installation with customers in mind. “The Fixglaze rooflight has a thermal broken aluminium extruded system with a 27mm polyamide insert for perfect heat retention creating U-values of 1.7 W/m2K (glass and frame) and 1.1 W/m2K (glass as standard). Using the latest glass design technology and continually improving our products, the Fixglaze rooflight has been designed in-house by us and all components are made from high grade materials making this the perfect choice for the trade. “Rooflights can be made to any size but with us there is no such thing as a set size; we offer frame only option, making us the only company to offer this service to the trade.” The frame is fixed and the glass can be from 28mm to 42mm in depth. With the choice of double or triple glazed, the system can take walk-on glass. The rooflight also has a 27mm thermal break and a 48mm over hang for better weather fill. Adding extra natural light and open air space, the colour of the rooflight framework is 7015 matt. Using a Dow Corning silicon sealed unit, the product uses the latest in glass technology; as well as silicon it uses soft coat argon gas and krypton gas. “We pride ourselves in providing the very best in customer satisfaction and product quality.” Kieran added. 100% British made, the rooflight has been government tested and surpasses all current regulations, as tested by Testing, Product Certification and CE Marking company Build Check.
