When Was The Last Time You Took A Good Look At
Your Own Website, Checked How Many Visitors You’ve
Had And What Your Online Conversion Rate Is?
With one billion websites across
the globe fighting for customers’
attention, it’s no longer just a case
of making sure your business has a
basic brochure website. Your customers have moved on, increasingly
viewing websites on smartphones or
mobiles to look for in-depth product
information, case studies and reviews to help them with their purchases. If your website hasn’t been
updated in the last couple of years,
the chances are it’s not fit for the
modern customer.
In a highly competitive marketplace it’s increasingly important to ensure your website
design and content is mobile optimised –
otherwise there’s plenty of other companies
ensuring their contact forms, enquiry forms
and e-commerce portals are mobile-friendly
and easy for users to engage with.
Google has jumped on the rising number
of mobile searches, and rewards websites
which are mobile friendly with higher
search engine rankings than those who fail
to cater for mobiles. There are currently 3.5
billion worldwide searches via Google each
day and with 7 out of 10 people in the UK
now owning a smartphone it’s inconceivable for a business not to have a mobile
friendly website in 2014.
Making sure your website is regularly updated with unique, relevant content is now
critical as well. Adding news items, product
features, and help and advice tips all help
position you as an authoritative company.
Visitors to your site will know you’re credible and open for business, and you’ll rise
up the rankings.
Times are changing and companies who
fail to embrace new web technologies are
likely to get left behind the competition –
with users getting frustrated at poor mobile
functionality and a lack of confidence in
companies who don’t meet their online
expectations.

GLAZERITE GETS EVEN
TOUGHER WITH THREE
MORE SBD LICENCES
Trade fabricator Glazerite Windows Ltd has
gained three new Secured By Design certifications – for composite
doors, French doors and
the new VEKA Imagine
bi-folds – to add to its
existing portfolio of
police-approved product
ranges.
The latest additions,
among other things, make
Glazerite one of only three
UK fabricators who currently hold the sought-after
accreditation on bi-folds and
one of the very few VEKA
fabricators to have both
SBD and Part M wheelchair access certification on
French doors.
Glazerite now holds SBD
certification on its casement,
tilt/turn and VS windows
and single resi-doors as well
as the three new categories. All have been tested to
PAS24: 2012 by a certificated independent testing
house. The fabricator was
also the first to supply the
SBD accredited Dynamic
2D hinge from SFS Intec in
all 15 colour variants for its
VEKA door range.
Next on the list will be the
new VEKA Imagine patio
door, said Glazerite Director
Jason Thompson. The new
range is due for launch at
the FIT Show and will be
submitted for SBD testing
and licensing soon after.
He added: “Secured By
Design gives homeowners,
installers and developers
the added peace of mind
of knowing any accredited
product has undergone
the same level of stringent
testing. Security is now
becoming a top priority
for homeowners and SBD
certification is more and
more specified as mandatory in commercial and social
refurbishment tenders.
‘complete SBD
solution’
Glazerite is the largest
trade fabricator of the VEKA
system in the UK and also
a prominent Network VEKA
member, with a reputation
for unsurpassed customer
service as well as a comprehensive product range.
The company offers a fully
nationwide service based on
manufacturing units in Northants and Greater Manchester and a distribution hub in
Bristol.

ADF PLASTICS LTD
“Many fabricators may
point to the SBD badge but
it might only apply to a window or maybe a door, leaving French doors or bi-folds
as vulnerable as ever. But
at Glazerite, we can offer a
complete SBD solution for
any dwelling.”
