Energy and Climate
Change Minister Amber
Rudd said:
“We’ve already taken £50
off energy bills this year,
and have forced energy
companies to make things
simpler and easier for bill
payers, but we know that
the best way for households to cut their bills is
to use less energy.
“More than three quarters of a million homes
have already had energy
saving improvements
installed as a result of the
Energy Company Obligation and Green Deal. It
makes sense to go even
further to help more
families install measures
so that they see the benefits of lower bills and a
warmer home for years to
come.”

funding for solid wall

‘Beware Asbestos Campaign’
The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) is fully supportive
of the recently launched Health and Safety Executive
(HSE) campaign to help tradespeople work more safely
with asbestos and protect themselves from danger.
The HSE estimates that
1.3 million tradespeople are potentially at
risk of being exposed
to asbestos.
A subsequent survey of
tradespeople commissioned
by the HSE, uncovered that
many of those potentially at
risk of exposure were unaware of the fact. Similarly,
the survey also revealed
that only a third (30%) of
those asked, were able
to identify all the correct
measures for safe asbestos
working, whilst more than
half (57%) made at least one
potentially lethal mistake
in trying to identify how to
stay safe.
The new Beware Asbestos campaign has been
launched to raise awareness
‘identify where they
could come into
contact with the
deadly material’
of the dangers associated
with Asbestos exposure and
to give tailored help on how
to deal with the risks. A key
feature of the campaign has
been the development of a
new web app for phones,
tablets and laptops that help
tradespeople easily identify
where they could come into
contact with the deadly material as they go about their
day-to-day work.
The GGF is the primary
trade association for companies that make, supply
or fit flat glass and related
products representing more
than 60% of the industry’s
turnover.

Campaign, including

UK’s composite door suppliers and in
just four years of trading has seen
incredible growth. Door-Stop manufactures more than 2,500 composite
