Morley Glass named GGP Installer Awards finalist for glass recycling service
AVOCET DELIVER THEIR PLEDGE TO “ MAKE THINGS EASY ”
In 2022 under the watchful eye of Managing Director , Dr Sachin Saigal and during the most volatile of times thanks to the war and the current economic crisis , Avocet Hardware Group made a bold statement that they would be the easiest company to deal with . Through major investment and some very long hours and dedication , Avocet developed a series of processes that have truly delivered on such a bold mission statement .
“ We have so many companies within the group that it was imperative our customers had easy access to the full range ,” commented Dr Sachin . “ It was evident that we needed to develop our own app which made stock querying and ordering a simple touch of a button process .”
“ We ’ re very proud of Quick- Trade and the adoption has been magnificent ,” said Dr Sachin . “ When we launched this to our agricultural business , it was a gamechanger with to date nearly a £ 1m worth of orders being placed via the app . We will this year be introducing QuickTrade to our ABS and door and window divisions as we continue our making things easy journey across our business .
“ VaultLink has been built inhouse by our IT department and allows every single customer of Avocet to view their invoice history , raise queries and of course pay ! This open communication has meant that invoice queries has dropped by nearly 67 % thanks to the transparent nature that VaultLink provides .”

Uni-Blinds ® integral blinds manufacturer Morley Glass has been shortlisted for the ‘ Best Installer Support Programme or Service Initiative ’ award in the 2023 GGP Installer Awards ( held on 16th March 2023 at the Midland Hotel in Manchester ).
The service involves Morley Glass collecting the post-consumer glass that installers remove as part of window replacement work , and crushing this at its in-house recycling plant , before sending to Saint-Gobain Glass for the manufacture of new glass .
The service is free to installers and fabricators because the glass cullet produced through the crushing process is a valuable
raw material in its own right . In addition , Morley Glass delivery vans are on the road delivering Uni-Blinds ® integral blind units to customers across the UK every working day , so they are ideally placed to collect waste glass from installers rather than returning to the Leeds HQ empty .
All the money raised through the production of cullet is placed into a fund called GreenVision which is ringfenced to offer £ 500 grants to micro-initiatives and individuals whose work will improve the local community , environmentally or socially .
Since Morley Glass installed its recycling plant in 2020 , the company has generated over 1,000 tonnes of cullet . This has reduced the amount of sand needed for glass manufacture by almost 1,000,000kg and cut CO 2 emissions by over 340,000kg .
