WENDLAND LAUNCHES NEW ALUMINIUM SQUARE LANTERN
Following on from the successful launch of its PVCu Square Lantern in 2021 , Wendland has announced that an aluminium Square Lantern ; available in sizes from 500m , up to 4000mm , and the perfect product to sit atop extensions and orangeries with aluminium bi-folds and / or windows . Wendland Brand Manager , Chloe McGrath , said : “ The square PVCu Lantern has been really well received since it launched and so we are pleased to now also be able to offer it in aluminium . This gives our installers the chance to offer a Lantern that will suite perfectly with aluminium doors or windows , as well as offering a slimline , modern look .”

Trickle vent slots into ventilation range
Yale has announced the launch of its new SlotVent range of trickle vents for windows , providing ventilation to homes without the need to open a window .
Grant Stratford , Technical Director for window hardware at Yale , comments :
“ Trickle vents are a requirement under the Building Regulation , England and Wales Approved Document F1 and Scottish building regulation 3.14 . With our new SlotVent range , we are enabling fabricators and installers to meet this requirement with a high-quality solution that offers several outstanding features .”
The SlotVent range offers a choice of three variants – 2500EA ( Equivalent Area ), 4000EA , and 5000EA – each providing a different level of ventilation , depending on requirements . The product is made up of an internal vent that can be tilted 30 , 60 , or 90 degrees and includes the option of a foam gasket that reduces noise and drafts ; as well as an external hood and a fly screen for the overframe .

Wendland Lanterns are thermally broken and packed with many thermal features to avoid condensation build-up . From the thermal rider rail to the thermal clips , these features ensure excellent performance , which is very important in moist rooms such as kitchens where heat levels can change quickly .
The vents are available in a wide range of colours – from Black and White to Agate Grey , Chartwell Green , and Irish Oak – inners and outers can be ordered as a set or separately to suit the window aesthetics and specification .
Easy to fit , they are attached to the window using pre-fitted clips , or can alternatively be fixed using the screwholes provided in the clips .
The new aluminium Square Lantern is available in the most requested colours on the market - grey , black , or white , and includes many fitter-friendly features such as :

All products in the SlotVent range have been thoroughly tested at BRE in accordance with EN13141-1:2019 , confirming their suitability for residential building ventilation , and BS EN ISO 10140-1 , testifying to their ability to insulate against airborne sound .
