UKCW relies on a top team behind the
scenes and on-site:
Sam – Office Manager/General – joined
the company after setting up and running
a successful janitorial business for five
years. Her main background is sales and
marketing having worked in different
industries for the past 20 years, and BT
for 10.
Mark – Accounts Manager – started in
contract cost accounting in 1984 for an en-
gineering company based in Wolverhamp-
ton. The company were involved in many
major projects based in the UK and all
over the world. Mark built up 26 years of
experience within contract cost account-
ing and has since then worked for several
companies in various fields on accounting
and book-keeping projects.
David – Chief Estimator – has worked in
the industry for 40 years; having started
as a trainee estimator for a shopfitting
company, and went on to estimate for a
various of company’s becoming senior
estimator, having worked with aluminium
curtain walling, windows, doors, glazing,
and cladding.
Lisa – Designer/Drawing Office – is a
time served mechanical and production
engineer who originally worked at Clarke
Chapman Marine in the mechanical/hy-
draulic drawing office before moving into
the construction industry. Lisa has over 20
years’ experience in the design of alumini-
um commercial glazing.
Richard – Business Development Man-
ager – has 35 years in the construction
industry (23 years aluminium industry
and 12 years garage doors); working in
new build/refurb, schools and academies,

office blocks, hospitals, care homes, social
housing, civic buildings, and more. Previ-
ous roles include Technical Representative,
Sales Director, Commercial Manager, Chief
Estimator, companies such as Kingfisher
Windows (most recent), 1st Choice Garage
Doors, Solaglas, British Patent Glazing, EG
Aluminium, Heywood Williams.
Jason – Contracts Manager – started
out on the tools emergency boarding and
glazing for EG Glass, progressed onto
estimating, then transferred to the alumin-
ium side of the business estimating. In 34
years he has since worked as Contracts
Manager for a few companies such as
Solaglas, Euro Aluminium, Weatherwise
Special Projects, LDG Contracts and EYG
from Hull; gaining a wealth of experience
with regards to the fixing of curtain wall-
ing, windows and doors to new build as
well as refurbished buildings and railway
bridges.
The company online
Being visible in the marketplace is key
to future success and with this in mind
the new UKCW website was launched last
year, and is kept current, along with an
active presence on social media; in par-
ticular LinkedIn, which has proven very
successful.
Setting and maintaining
standards
On Thursday 25th January, UKCW
passed its audit with flying colours. When
Duncan and Sam bought the business, it
had 9001 and 14001, and the team has
worked tirelessly to maintain these high
standards.
