The event will be brought to life through an immersive exhibition and conference programme that will redefine sustainability, identify future growth sectors and address the housing crisis. This year’ s show will see Ecobuild transformed into a‘ city’ – complete with a main street, distinct destinations and special |
feature attractions. Central to the experience will be Regeneration Drive, a boulevard running through the centre of the exhibition floor, linking different aspects of the show. The Arena will be home to the Ecobuild Conference, staging a range of speeches from industry thought leaders and innovators across the three days. |
Key speakers will include Lord Kerslake, local government association and former head of the civil service and permanent secretary at the Department for Communities and Local Government; Julia Park, head of housing research at Levitt Bernstein and Dr Diana Montgomery, chief executive at Construction Products Association. The conference sessions will |
range from addressing the housing crisis to the evaluation of offsite construction. The show’ s sustainability hub, City Hall, will be home to the UK- GBC and World Green Building Council, representing the culmination of Ecobuild’ s Redefining Sustainability campaign – which seeks to create an industry-wide understanding of sustainability objectives and drives, and a clear direction for the future. The Gateway is where visitors can explore national and community infrastructure projects in partnership with ICE( Institution of Civil Engineers), as well as a separate theatre dedicated to Green Infrastructure. The Performance Lab, with building performance and energy content produced in partnership with CIBSE, Ecobuild’ s Building Performance Partner, will focus on Smart Home and Smart Building technology. |
In response to the increased government and industry focus on offsite construction, Ecobuild has partnered with Explore Offsite to bring a showcase of the opportunities offered by offsite technology in the future of construction. A series of daily masterclasses will be taking place at the event, with housing minister Gavin Barwell MP due to look at ways to use offsite technology to build 100,000 modular homes. Notable exhibitors at the show include PIR insulation boards manufacturer Celotex( Saint- Gobain), flat roof waterproofing systems specialists Bauder, and ceilings and wall solutions provider Armstrong.
