Clearview is ProInstaller’s sister publication. Paul Swift, Area Business Manager at the Camden Group, studied at Sheffield Hallam University. Paul started by studying part-time for his undergraduate degree yet after 18 months, lecturers recommended he switch to the Masters programme, which he accomplished over the last three years, studying part-time, whilst working at the Camden Group. Discussing studying for his Master’s degree, Paul said: “It was difficult, some modules were very enjoyable such as marketing, fi- nance and the international business module was great as the lectures were held in Prague, and I got to Prague for the week. “It was very tough managing work, university work and my family. I am married with two children so juggling work and family life was really hard. My family sacrificed a lot as I was always busy and had to spend a lot of time doing university work and I used all my holiday time from work to attend lectures.” Paul based his dissertation on the composite door market. He created an online survey which gathered market data to form the foundations of his research paper. However, for the project to be successful, getting a vast amount of feedback via the survey was crucial. Paul approached Clearzine to help him get this feedback and in June of this year, Clearzine ran an article advertising Paul’s survey and explaining its importance. The information I got from the online survey was instrumental to the success of my dissertation.” Graduating mid-November, Paul achieved the highest mark for a marketing-based dissertation in the whole university, receiving the Chartered Institute of Marketing Award. He has also achieved the Postgraduate Student of the Year Award, awarded by Sheffield Business School.
