Oldham’s finest
get on board
Gemini UPVC Ltd and
its installation arm,
AWC Windows and
Home Improvements,
are some of the latest
companies to sign up
to The VEKA UK Group’s
Approved Fabricator
and Installer initiative.
Based in Oldham, not only
has AWC joined as an Approved Installer but Gemini
has joined as an Approved
Fabricator.
The companies, run by
brothers Michael and Paul
Griffiths, are amongst the
region’s most-respected
businesses, thanks to their
commitment to supplying
superior quality products
from The VEKA UK Group.
Joining more than 200 Approved Installers and Fabricators, Gemini and AWC
are part of an overwhelming
uptake in the initiative since
it was launched at the FIT
Show earlier this year.
‘established
businesses can
benefit from
the scheme’
Amy Grundy, National
Sales Manager for the Approved Installer scheme was
excited to congratulate both
companies on their new Approved status: “What Gemini
and AWC have achieved in
their area speaks for itself
and we’re thrilled to have
businesses of their standing
joining the Scheme.
Approved Installers commit
to only working with Approved Fabricators who, in
turn benefit from loyal and
dependable repeat trade.
Approved Installers can be
confident that they are using
products of the highest
quality, and supported by the
industry’s finest marketing
package, have ample opportunity to bring that prestige
to the attention of homeowners; both via marketing materials and a subsidised website
design and build service.
Amy continues: “To have
Gemini and AWC become
Approved, demonstrates that
established businesses can
benefit from the scheme.
There’s no charge to sign-up
and we’re there to support
both Approved Fabricators
and Installers every step of
the way. I look forward to
many others following in
their footsteps!”

Major New Work for RecordBreaking Roofing Company
A Cornish roofing specialist has been invited
to quote for a six figure
contract in Manchester thanks to a recent
record-breaking performance.
JR Flat Roofing, based in
Redruth, Cornwall, completed a job in Hemel Hempstead this autumn, refurbishing two roofs where the
waterproofing layer was in
need of repair.
The project concerned
residential buildings which
had to remain fully occupied during the works with
minimal disruption. Working
with Heritage Scaffolding
Ltd., Berkshire, JR Flat Roofing completed the task in
less than three weeks which
is a record for the two companies.
The companies refurbished
1100m2 of roof, erecting
and dismantling two 30-me-
tre-high access platforms
in record breaking time,
prompting the client to call
on the JR Flat Roofing to
start the contract in Manchester at the beginning of
2015.
Nick Rogers, Managing
Director for JR Flat Roofing, commented: “We are
experienced in challenging
projects, with tight deadline,
but our team and Heritage
Scaffolding really excelled
themselves in Hemel Hempstead.
“The project was extremely challenging and involved
removing and replacing a
huge amount of materials,
which covered the damaged waterproof layer. I’m
pleased that our efficiency
and speed on the project
led to further opportunities
for JR Flat Roofing.
“2014 is our 30th Anniversary year and we’re hoping
to build on its successes
in 2015. The project in
Manchester is still in the
planning stages, but we’re
already looking forward to
our next challenge.”
