Employing thousands of staff and amassing more than £ 130m sales between them , the six companies believe their involvement in both manufacturing and retail gives them a unique insight into consumer pain points and a worrying dip in demand that some firms in the industry are failing to see coming .

With a long-standing reputation in the fenestration industry , spanning well over three decades , Oakland Glass retains a family feel amongst a close knit , friendly team . Now , the Dewsbury-based glass manufacturer and merchant is searching for a Sales & Estimating Representative .
The new Sales & Estimating Representative will primarily be working with the existing Oakland customer base ; to lead and organise , by maintaining , managing , developing , and fully understanding customer activities and relationships ; providing regular feedback to the in-house management team . They will also act to acquire new customers through identifying new potentials and developing relationships , plus identifying opportunities to upsell for to our customers and identifying new products , in general .
Across all of this , communication is key ; in a professional , positive , timely and consistent manner both internally and externally . The new Sales & Estimating Representative will be able to update customers of developments within Oakland Glass , and conversely update internally any developments within and from customers or competitors .
From a practical point of view , the new Sales & Estimating Representative will be expected to provide quotations in a timely and professional manner , assist in setting the sales strategy ( customer volumes , price increases , margins , product mix ), enforce and monitor health , safety and environmental rules , plans and practices linked to the Sales function , enforce and monitor compliance to Oakland Glass systems and procedures linked to the sales function , collaborate with : sales order input ; QC ; production ; environment ; health & safety ; identify , discuss and implement price increases , plus assist marketing literature and distribution and updating social media .
Regular reporting will be required , when it comes to the monitoring and measuring of customer volumes , average prices , margins ; customer feedback ; mix of products per customer ; weekly quotations and status analysis ( won , lost , awaiting decision ).
Oakland Glass expects the new Sales & Estimating Representative to keep up to date with changes in the legislation for the glass industry , hold a full and clean UK driving licence , good computer skills and a minimum of five years ’ industry experience .
In return the successful candidate will receive a salary of £ 30K- £ 35K ( depending on experience ), bonus on new customers , company car , pension and death in service benefit .

MORLEY GLASS ‘ FIT AND READY ’ FOR 2023 SHOW

The UK ’ s leading integral blinds manufacturer Morley Glass has signed up to exhibit at the 2023 FIT Show with plans to create its biggest and best stand ever .
After a hugely successful show in May , the company behind the Uni-Blinds ® brand has already booked a larger 140 sq . m stand for the 2023 event , which it will use to create a bespoke stand packed with even more products and demo areas , plus increased space for meeting and networking with customers , suppliers and industry stakeholders .
