CWG opened its doors for business on 4th January 1992 . The company consisted of two partners , three operatives and some ‘ very ’ second-hand machinery . The stated aims of the company were to produce window and door frames for ‘ on-time delivery ’ – ‘ excellent quality ’ – ‘ at a fair price ’. Of these , whereas ‘ quality ’ and ‘ price ’ are given , ‘ delivery on time ’ in those days was not and gave us the ‘ unique selling point ’ we needed to launch the business .
Our mission was - and remains to be - to make buying trade windows and doors easy . One partner was in the factory manufacturing and the other partner was out delivering . We soon realised that it was the procurement of glass that put our ‘ on time ’ deliveries in jeopardy to which the answer was to make our own double-glazed units and so opened a glass factory .
Our typical customer was the small owner / fitter / tradesperson . They were key to our development since we understood their needs and were capable of satisfying those needs . We rapidly built up a strong and loyal group of customers , mostly in the East of England where most of our selling efforts were centred . As ever – the secret was ‘ on time delivery ’ so that our customers could confidently plan their work .
The company progressed and sales increased at a steady rate . Very soon we were looking for more space and so began the search for a larger factory in Corby and this became a regular feature of our development . We further expanded our sphere of influence by acquiring a factory in the West Midlands which was the start of acquiring larger premises as we had done in Corby . Finally , we had a large factory in Corby and two factories in the Aldridge area . Now , with factories in the East and West Midlands we are in a very strong position to service down to the south coast and up to the M62 . By 2006 we had a turnover of some £ 24m .

As the company progressed so did the breadth of product range including having our own ‘ state of the art ’ aluminium factory , custom built on our Corby Site . Customer demands became more and more sophisticated ; and we responded by manufacturing the range that our customers demanded . Whereas a simple white or woodgrain externally beaded product was sufficient in the infancy , products have developed significantly over time . Early on the internal bead came ‘ on stream ’ rapidly followed by a plethora of new colour options – stock control became critical – and so choice of stock difficult to forecast . Then came the urge to get the PVCU to look even more like timber and so in came the ‘ flush ’ window in a range of colours and corner jointing options – as ever , the company took all this in its stride . Today CWG Choices offers the largest choice of window and door products from any one manufacturer in the UK market . The range is further enhanced by having its own genuine timber range supplied by our sister company within our group .
So , we have the product for the most discerning customer . They can have PVCU , Aluminium , Timber or Timber Aluminium Clad . Depending on product range the customer can specify welded or mechanically-jointed . They can have white windows or choose from a huge range of stock

colours ; to give the houseowner what they desire to bring long lasting satisfaction . This brings its own challenge – our customer must have the easiest possible way of presenting and selling our product and , as important , the easiest possible way to acquire the product from us . To aid this ‘ easy to buy ’ philosophy there are several avenues to follow . Our customers are provided an excellent hard copy product guide , which gives very clear images and descriptions of the entire range . The CWG Choices website is comprehensive , which has every aid possible to help customers choose the product required for their project . It includes images , descriptions , virtual showrooms and YouTube presentations . There are two CWG customer showroom facilities , Aldridge , Walsall and Corby , Northamptonshire . For TRADE customers we provide ‘ Choices Online ’ where they can process their own quotations and go all the way to sending us a ‘ ready for manufacture ’ order . To further help our customers , there is a direct telephone line to the Processing Department where there is a friendly customer service team ready to help in any way they can .

The future holds further investment in product development . We are extending our Corby facility and introducing further CNC and PVC welding technology . CWG Choices is the first window and door manufacturer in the UK to offer an entire product range enabled for Kubu Smart Technology as standard .
