Rise Of Larger Windows Brings
Growth For Manufacturer
Grand Opening
Cements Growth
National Plastics, one of the
UK’s largest independent
trade counter networks has
just got even bigger, with
the company opening a new
store.
The new depot in Wednesbury
continues an unprecedented
period of growth for National
Plastics.
Managing Director, Geoff Foster
says, “Our long-term plan is to
grow to a network of over 50
depots by the end of 2017, ensuring there’s no UK area without
convenient access to one of our
trade counters. With the new
Wednesbury base we’ve fortified
our position in the West Midlands,
further extending National Plastics’
values of superior quality products, great value and exemplary
service throughout the area.”
National Plastics is renowned
for being a one stop shop for the
trade. Its range covers everything
from drainage to roofing and
everything in between. Products
are available at all price points, so
there is something for every project, no matter what its scale.
Geoff comments: “Everyone is
very time-pressured these days.
Stocking as broad a range of products as we can means we reduce
that pressure a little. It means
customers need to go to fewer
places for their supplies, saving
them time and making their lives
easier.”
“Our growth is something we
are very proud of. Some of it is
thanks to acquisitions and opening
new sites, but it’s mainly because
we have increased sales to our customers by offering an ever-wider
range of products, holding huge
amounts of stock and being able
to deliver, in many cases for free.”

Morley Glass and Glazing, the UK’s largest manufacturer
of ScreenLine® integral blinds, has seen 29% annual
growth in sales of its Uni-Blinds® sealed units with
22mm and 27mm cavities due to increased demand
for larger windows, including sliding patio doors.
Ian Short, managing director, explains:
“Typical domestic windows and
doors feature 28mm sealed units
with a 20mm cavity, into which
we can fit ScreenLine® integral
blinds, in a wide range of colour
options. However, there is growing demand for larger windows
and doors; both for the domestic
and commercial markets, which
require 22mm or 27mm cavities.
Our Uni-Blinds® sealed units with
ScreenLine® integral blinds inside
can be fitted into doors and windows as large as two metres high
and two metres wide.
“It’s the quality and breadth of
our product range that makes us
the ideal partner for fabricators
and installers looking to enhance
their profit opportunities and provide their customers with excellent
choice and service. All our blinds
are available in just 10 days.”
Integral blinds that can be fitted
into larger windows are also ideal
for bi-folding and sliding patio
doors providing enhanced privacy,
reductions in sound intrusion and
solar glare.
Sealed from any ingress of dirt,
dust and moisture, integral blinds
offer an easy to use, low maintenance and safe solution that can
help to reduce the effect of direct
sunlight and heat loss, offering
protection from overheating in the
summer and improved thermal
insulation in the winter.
