Coming out of the first national lockdown in the summer of 2020 , the firm was greeted with enormous demand . As the year progressed , that demand

remained extremely strong – so much so that Victorian Sliders broke its record for the number of frames produced in a week on several occasions . By the end of the year , the

company had registered sales 24.5 % higher than 2019 , even with the impact of multiple lockdowns , and is predicting another bumper twelve months ahead , as Group Managing

Director Andy Jones explains :

“ The Bank of England has just predicted that the UK economy will bounce back strongly in the Spring as we start to see the effects of the mass vaccination rollout – and with a question mark still hanging over international travel .

“ Thanks to the strategy of far-sighted investment and continuous improvement , Victorian Sliders is excellently positioned to thrive as the market consolidates and more and more fabricators choose to outsource their Vertical Sliding Windows .”

In line with our business development plans , and in response to the ongoing growth in demand coming from the marketplace , we identified that for the company to build on its success we needed to increase our manufacturing capabilities with a sustainable , long-term solution , comments Anne-Marie Busch , Commercial Manager .

This has translated into the acquisition of a brandnew machining centre , which will open up our capacity to cut timber to above our forecasted growth . The difference on our production line was felt from day one says Icotherm ’ s production manager , Joe Highwood .

Our growth plans do not just include machinery , but also an expansion of the Icotherm network . Our

enquiries come to us from all over the UK , so in an effort to make our system available to those that want it , in the most time and cost-efficient way , we have now entered into fabricator agreements with two companies : Green Lid Fabrication , in Taunton will look after installers in postcodes areas spanning between TR and SP , whilst Icotherm South East operates in NR , IP , CO , CM , RM , SS . GM Fundraising has announced its 2021 Peak , Paddle , Pedal charity event to raise money for Hope House Children ’ s Hospices has been further postponed until 2022 . The 12 members of the Peak , Paddle , Pedal team will now climb Snowdon , canoe 150 miles down the length of the River Severn and cycle 150 miles back to Hope House in Oswestry from 30th July , 2022 .

Gary Morton , the founder of GM Fundraising , said : “ Having already postponed our scheduled 2020 event back to 2021 due to the

pandemic , we are disappointed to reschedule again . Like a lot of charities , the pandemic has hit Hope House Children ’ s Hospices hard , and this was further exacerbated with the rise in PPE costs needed for face-to-face nursing . We are more determined than ever to help support them going forward and look forward to the various planned events we still have this year .”

One planned event is the ever-popular GM Fundraising Cup which has been rescheduled for 14th to 16th September , 2021 at Quinta Do Lago in Portugal
