DERREN TAKES UK REINS

Derren Gittins will be joining Synseal Group to head up its UK-wide glass operations.
Derren’ s new role as glass managing director includes overseeing the four glass production facilities owned by Synseal Group- Village Glass, based in Essex, and the three Global Glass factories based in Nottinghamshire, Wigan and Blackburn, which houses the UK’ s largest specialist roof glass production line.
With more than 25 years of experience in glass processing, Derren has spent most of his career in high profile positions at Pilkington, including as the head

of downstream manufacturing, before taking up the post of managing director at Glass Systems Group.
David Leng, CEO of Synseal Group, welcomed Derren and said:“ In recent years we have expanded our glass offer, including the acquisition of Village Glass late last year, now giving us over 200,000 sq ft of glass production facilities across four UK sites with more
than 50,000 sealed unit capacity weekly. We have invested more than £ 10m over the past four years in machinery, infrastructure and production capability and we will continue to be acquisitive in this area of the industry.
“ It is right that we appoint someone of Derren’ s calibre to manage this large-scale operation and ensure we continue to meet the growing demand for high quality double and triple glazed insulated glazed units for window, door and conservatory applications.”

TONY LOCKS ON TO NEW ROLE

Davenport Burgess- the trade only supplier of keys and key related accessories- has welcomed Tony Wilkin on board in his new role as business development manager.
Tony will be embedded into the company’ s existing rapid growth strategy and will further enhance the current customer focussed technical support model applied by the business.
With almost two decades in the industry, Tony brings with him knowledge on all aspects of key cutting and locksmithing for
the domestic and auto markets. He said:“ I will be looking to help Davenport’ s customers with my knowledge of diagnostics and cloning, including the car key range, locksmithing tools and locks and all aspects of key cutting including key machines, key identification and key cutting.”

The Worcestershire-based company was set up by Fred Doodey, who boasts plenty of industry experience, and as Glazerite’ s group director Jason Thompson explains, has delivered some memorable projects this year:“ With the number of installations completed, Fred has now managed to get Ecologic Windows ranking on the R9 installer website, with the‘ over 20 installations’ badge displayed on its profile, something which can make the business stand out against the other companies listed. It is a great achievement and the company should be very proud.”
