‘Scouse Messi’
smashes Owen’s
goalscoring
record!
Dortech would like to congratulate their Contracts Director, Paul Trueman
for the incredible achievements of his seven year old son Ben.
The seven year old
Merseyside soccer
sensation has scored
an astonishing 123
goals in just 18 games
for Haydock Under-7s and since his story was
published in the Liverpool Echo, he has not
surprisingly since been
likened to a certain
Barcelona superstar...
If you are already drawing
similarities with Lionel Messi
at the tender age of seven,
then it follows you must
have some real talent, and
without a doubt, when it
comes to soccer, Ben Trueman most certainly does.
The junior Merseyside
sensation has bagged a fantastic 123 goals in 18 games
for Haydock Under-7’s.
Young Trueman - who has
been at Liverpool’s Kirkby
Academy since the age of
five - has smashed the previous goalscoring record for
his age group, set by none
other than Michael Owen.
It comes as no surprise to
learn that Ben’s side tops
their Warrington Junior
Football League first division - on goal difference.
His manager at Haydock
FC, Luke Burke, has put together a video of his team’s
exploits and said of Ben:
“His overall play and his
range of passing is absolutely incredible and just his
attitude overall is amazing
to see.”
But Ben’s dad Paul is wisely keen to ensure his young
son stays grounded.
‘123 goals in 18 games’
Paul said: “We try to keep
him level-headed and help
him understand that it could
all come to an end at any
point.
“He loves football, he’s
always walking round the
house, kicking a ball around
with a big smile on his
face.”
