App-Based Rainfall Analyser to Improve Flood Warning Systems
Rainfall is perhaps the most important climate data for any water-related studies including water resources management and flood forecasting . The common techniques for rainfall estimation are not able to address the spatial variability of the rainfall . This study aims to develop an AI-based acoustic rainfall analysis technique to estimate rainfall data based on acoustic features of the rainfall recorded audio . And the digital connectivity ( e . g . smartphones , internet , etc .) in modern societies provides an opportunity for data acquisition using community-based inputs through volunteers . The outcomes of this behavioural study will be used to develop plans and ideas for the future commercialization of the product .
