Principal's Address
Dear Parents,
I am delighted to present the first edition of the Pristine Panorama for the academic year 2019-2020. Not only a showcase of the activities across the school, the newsletter is meticulously compiled and designed by our students to update you of the various achievements and prestigious awards secured by the student body. This onward and upward journey of PPS is a result of the meaningful, interdisciplinary high-quality provision of collaborative learning opportunities that continue to instill effective work ethics and values in our students. The school consistently creates Pathways of Excellence for all its students since 1992.
The achievement and sustained success of our school in PISA 2018 is noteworthy. Our school has performed significantly higher than all participating UAE schools, Dubai Schools, and even the UK Curriculum Schools. This has been fostered by our strong focus on the core skills in reading, writing, math, and science. Please do read the PISA 2018 report available on the school website.
The Cambridge International Exam results in 2019, and placements of our students in distinguished universities are something to celebrate again. June 2019 saw an outstanding result of 75% of students attained A* to B at the IGCSE and approximately 50% of students attained A* to B in the Post 16 examinations. The school once again received prestigious Top in the Country and Top in UAE Cambridge Learner Awards. The awards received were as follows:

Pristine Private School has once again been approved as a Common-Sense Education School, an honor that recognizes our efforts in teaching digital citizenship to young people and engaging the entire school community in this important discussion. The recognition acknowledges our school's commitment to helping students build skills that are essential for their well-being today—and for the opportunities, they'll have tomorrow.
Our students achieved a series of awards at RIT 10th Annual Engineering Competition in electrical engineering, Design thinking, Hacking, UAE Cyber week AI Competition, Pakistan Association Dubai – Inter School Science Exhibition, GMU MASE 2019 – Poster Competition, NYU – Abu Dhabi High School Debate Tournament (English Division), World Scholars Cup and many more.
Student achievements of students for AY 2018-2019 was successfully celebrated in the Pristine Annual Award Evening. In addition to this students showcased their athletic skills on the annual sports day. Drama Production, ‘1920 The Final Plea’ and Concert ‘Eunoia’ were highly captivating for the audiences. The newly installed massive screen in the MPH contributed significantly to digitalizing the impressive backdrops. Project Travel Quest was another interesting learning event where the students of Years 3 to 8 creatively presented and discussed the voyages of some great explorers of the world.
The National day celebrations and the UAE souq modelled clearly displayed the excellent entrepreneurial skills of Keystage 1. Students had created DIY products linked to instructions and UAE National Day. The Tigers Café Creative Breakfast activity organized for FS mothers was a great example of parent engagement. Also, the Readathon which clocked 1000 hours of reading in an hour saw committed parents reading alongside their child a mutually favourite book.
Pristine Private School continues to focus on further enhancement of the Arabic reading skills of the students and in line with this, the school has launched the Arabic-Reading software, kutubee.com to support each and every child become a better reader of Arabic. Reading is the key to your child’s success in school. In just a few dedicated minutes per day, you can help your child use the ebooks and maximise his/her reading potential.
I urge parents to attend our workshops and parent engagement sessions and read through this exciting issue of Pristine Panorama. As always this impressive digital magazine truly represents the ethos of the learning culture prevalent at Pristine Private School.
