PRISMUN 2019

Pristine Model United Nations (PRISMUN) is one of the biggest events to unfold during the academic year, and annually, over a hundred students participate from Pristine and other schools as delegates representing over 50 countries in the United Nations. This year PRISMUN commenced on Thursday, 31st January.

The school was privileged to host a prestigious and influential speaker at the opening ceremony, Mr. Essam Ali, Social Policy Specialist, UNICEF Gulf Area who delivered an inspirational and motivational speech for the student delegates present. Mr. Essam reminded the delegates about the importance of simulating events like a model United Nations to raise awareness for concepts such as the Sustainable Development Goals, teaching the students to think critically about worldwide events and what possible resolutions could be implemented for such circumstances

With much active participation from over dozens of delegates in each committee, the topics were deliberated on with overflowing enthusiasm that carries on throughout all three days of the event. The students communicated with each other, forming alliances amongst their designated countries to draft and compose resolutions that they think should be rightfully implemented by the United Nations in response to the problems at hand.

PrisMUN concluded on the 2nd of February with a closing ceremony awarding the students who performed exceptionally as delegates and honoured the external delegates from other schools who had spent their weekend attending this prestigious event, working alongside with the students of Pristine in intellectual harmony.
