PRELUDE
The American presidential election is little over two weeks away and Americans will have to decide which of the lesser evils they will vote for. There is no
question that Hillary is not an ideal presidential candidate. She comes with a lot of
baggage, too many lies, and a checkered history that is not very enviable. But in
order to appreciate the worthiness of Hillary Clinton as president, it is important to
know a little bit about her opponent, Donald Trump; and someone even as flawed
as Hillary will appear to be magnanimous.
So where does one start with Donald Trump?
To start off, Donald Trump is simply unfit to be the President of the US; not only
is he unqualified, he has proven time and time again, that he has a penchant for
lying. Making up stories is second nature to him- he is a serial liar who can never
back up any facts. He has lied about his wealth, lied about his university, lied
about his Trump foundation, his net worth, lied about Muslims, Mexicans, women
and anyone else that has come in his path. This amount of lying would surely not
make a good president because he simply cannot be trusted. That alone should
be a reason to vote for Clinton.
As far as his policies go, it depends on the day of the week. He sometimes says
he will raise taxes and then says he will cut taxes among all income brackets. He
says he will introduce a new healthcare plan but does not give any idea what he
plans to do. He has said he will seize private property and he does not want the
media to have the liberty to criticize the government. He has said he will deport 11
million undocumented Mexicans but fails to say how he will do it. A single plane
can only take 300 people, so transporting 11 millions would require tens of thousands of flights. And who would pay for them? Next he has said he will build a
wall across the Mexican border but again he fails to mention how he will get Mexico to pay for it? Will the cost fall to taxpayers? He has mentioned impounding all
the remittance payments Mexicans send back home.
Donald Trump has repeatedly incited political violence at his rallies. He has
even gone, as far as to say that he will defend his voters if they commit any violence at his rallies. Numerous times he has gone on to say that violence is the
best way to respond to people who oppose him- a great way for a presidential
candidate to behave! This is how he has run
his business by threats, lawsuits, and intimidation.
When it comes to women, Trump has no
parallel. Throughout his history he has been
demeaning to women, been nasty, crude and
vulgar towards them. He has no respect for
women. On TV he has called women slobs,
fat, disgusting and ugly. He feels that women
who are pregnant are an inconvenience to
business, as they need maternity leave. He
even called Megyn Kelly of Fox news a bimbo
- is this a person worthy of being a US president?
Finally, one very impor tant reason why
Trump should not be president is because he
is anti-free speech. He has also stated once in
office he will make libel more open so that
newspapers and media can be sued for writing negative things. He has threatened and
banned several reporters from his rallies. He
has also mentioned that CNN should lose their
license because they constantly write negative
things about him. Here is a man who is not
able to tolerate a few negatives about him.
How will he manage the Chinese, the Russians, the Indians, the Latinos, and all the
Arabs? The first amendment is an icon of our
democracy and here is Trump, who wants to
take our vocal liberty.
In the end, Trump is an evil, egomanic with
narcissistic tendencies. He is abrasive and
does not care whom he abuses or rants upon.
He feels that just because he is rich he can
tread on everyone. He has made many threats
against Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, Iraq,
Saudi Arabia, and ready to go to war with almost everyone. He is a man full of hatred and
little tolerance. Granted Clinton is a not a great
candidate but she does not have 1/100th of the
faults that Trump has. There is not a single
good reason to vote for Trump. Under Hillary,
we may have an unpleasant president but at
least we will be safer, free and not be at war
with other nations. Trump’s recklessness is
scary to say the least. So if you still love
America and consider it the greatest place of
earth, vote Clinton in November. She may be
boring but at least she is mentally stable.
Hillary believes we are stronger together. Prison Life & Beyond Magazine is with her.
