Long weekend for Can Assist

“ Can Assist - what a busy weekend . The weather was glorious thats for sure , for The Mini Car Clubs 46th year in Hay . Saturday stall at the Mini Car show and shine we sold out of Hot dogs and sold a few items that were donated to Can Assist to make a few extra dollars . Sunday the Motorkhana Held at " Willunga ", we started early cooking breaky from 7.30am and continuing thru to lunch and beyond . The mini car enthusiasts and organisers we very happy with the spread we had dished up . We finished up around 4pm , then sat back and watched the final runs of Hays Hero ' s Competiton . Mini Car Club organisers were so happy with us that we are already booked for next years event ..... Woo Hoo ... Can ' t wait til next year ...!!! “
“ Then there is the trailer which has to be stripped naked and cleaned from top to bottom the replenished for the next event . Well thats all part of being a volunteer , but i do enjoy it . Inaugural Social Bowls at the Servo

The Hay services Club ‘ tried something different ’ over the June long weekend . Forty bowlers lined up to play in a two bowl triples competition , where the winning team was awarded $ 600 in prize money . Second and third also received prizes and an encouragement award was presented to the lowest scoring team . Morning tea , lunch and afternoon tea were enjoyed by all and raffles were well supported .
The Hay Services Club thanked the businesses who sponsored the day including : Hay Jewellers , Doms Motors ( Griffith ) Berton Wines and Carlton United . Plans are underway for next years competition which is open to anyone who would like to play .
