Around the Town Holiday Activities
Kristy Morris organised Teddy Bears picnics at
the Hay Park during the holidays. Gathering kids
together Kristy, with the help of Leo Fitzpatrick,
conducted hide and seek games, nail painting,
temporary tattoos, fun activities and picnics, three
days each week of the school break. The sound of
children's laughter filled the park as youngsters
enjoyed running around in the fresh air. “It’s better
than having them sitting around the house playing
Xbox,” said one mother. Pictured left, the kids
show off the amazing variety of ‘Teddy Bears’,
who also enjoyed their day in the sun.
The wonderful aroma of fresh popcorn greeted library users during the
school holidays when a PG & popcorn morning was held. Children were
invited to watch a movie and enjoy ‘movie treats’.
Tuesday morning reading is attracting lots of mums and young children. Beth
Coffey informed the Printed Post, that lots of families, especially new
residents, are enjoying story time and activities, and making new friends.
Story time is held every Tuesday at 10am.
Hay Skate Park was the place to be on a sunny winters day. Local
and visiting kids grabbed their boards and scooters to practice their
skills on the jumps and in the bowl.
Snow Cubs
In the July school holidays, local Cub
Scouts were invited to join Cubs from
Leeton at a snow camp at
Cabramurra. In perfect snow
conditions, the children enjoyed
tobogganing, snowball fights, building
snowmen, trekking to the lookout and
plenty of games. Cubs is for boys
and girls aged 8 – 11 years and

the Baden Powell Scout Hall. Scouts
