Daffodil Day,
a day to show you care about people living with cancer
Dedicated volunteers were out and about on 22nd August Daffodil day, raising funds for the Cancer Council. “Every
piece of yellow merchandise sold will bring us a step closer to beating cancer and help us continue our research, support
and prevention programs,” writes the Cancer Council.
“This year the Cancer Council hope to fundraise $3.2m in NSW. So please help spread the word by sharing your
Daffodil Day experiences with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #ShowYouCare.”
The Hay community cares about beating cancer and many were proud to wear Cancer Council Pins on Daffodil Day. The
daffodil is a powerful symbol of hope and tells people battling this disease that we care. It also honours those who have
passed and gives strength and optimism to everyone in the community.
Kerry Aldred has been involved
with the Cancer Council and
Daffodil Day for eighteen years
and told Printed Post that from the
growers of the flower to the
truckies who deliver them,
everyone works hard to ensure the
success of the fundraiser. This
Daffodil Day Kerry worked
alongside thirteen year veteran
Janine Cox.
Harry Kouroulis was an early bird
at the Old Fire Station where the
girls set up their daffodil stall.
