CASE Says Thank You To Major Sponsors Ken Wilson, Peter Dwyer, Kirsten Thronder, Debbie Lumley, Krisy-Ann Crighton, Sharon Ebsworth (Westpac), Les Whitefield Yvette Whitefield & Nasr Kafrouni (Holroyd), Jason Wall, Jan Eames, Damian Crocker, Deepak Bhardway & Eddie Redfern (Auscott) Major sponsors of the CASE Bike Ride to Canberra, were presented with a thank you gift of framed riders jumpers. Peter (DY) Dwyer thanked those sponsors, Westpac Bank, Auscott, The Riv Hotel and Holroyd Council, saying that “Without sponsors, we cant do anything. What a great effort from our sponsors.” The ride, which took place in April 2014, raised over $15,000 which will be put to good use for a ‘Youth Weekend’ in 2015. The event is in the early planning stages and CASE members are working hard to ensure a successful event. Mayor of Holroyd, Nasr Kafrouni thanked CASE for their work. “It’s not just for Hay. You are doing a good thing for the cause - preventing suicide across Australia.” DY once again thanked all the riders for their hard work and perseverance on the ride. “It’s not a five minute job,” said Mr. Dwyer, “Riders practiced for months for this ride.” Headspace Update Community Action 4 Suicide Elimination A HAY INITIATIVE The CASE committee are getting excited, as the decision for the allocation of funding for the next Headspace Centres is almost upon us. This is expected late July, early August. CASE have been working very closely with the Headspace4Griffith committee, to ensure we provide them with as much support as we can including lobbying key politicians and influential members of the community. Of course the benefit to Hay if Griffith gains approval is that an Outreach centre will be established, to support the youth in our community. This is an exciting opportunity for our youth and CASE will work very closely with the headspace4Griffith committee, to ensure we provide ongoing and continuing support. Remember Headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation, and they are focussing on helping young people who are going through a tough time . Members of CASE have had the opportunity to visit a number of Headspace Centres and found them to be very professional and totally focussed on our youth.
