Life Memberships Awarded
Ray Eldridge, Director of the Agriculture Society of NSW, took the microphone
and asked Jenny Sheaffe and Marg Harvey to join him. The confused pair
stepped forward and Ray told those assembled that Jenny and Margie were
being awarded Life Membership to the Hay Show Society for 20 years of work
and involvement in the Equestrian Ring.
Marg Harvey is a former competitor at the Hay show and both women have
maintained a strong involvement since their children rode in events. Both were
very surprised and humble in their acceptance of the award.

was won by Mrs E
Bratney in 1964 and
donated to the Hay
Show equestrian events
by Arn Turner, her son.
Many mothers and
daughters have won this
trophy over the years.
John Cooper, stalwart of the Hay
Equestrian world, is pictured with
Bob. Bob designed the set up for the
jumps in the horse events. He also
designed the jumps for the Sydney
Olympics. “Hay is well regarded in
the equestrian world”, says Jenny
Sheaffe, “Too get him is quite a
coo.”
