In Memoriam Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free Our lives go on without you I’m following the path God has laid you see. But nothing is the same I took His hand when I heard him call We have to hide our heartache I turned my back and left it all. When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set on me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room, why cry for a soul set free. When someone speaks your name I could not stay another day Sad are the hearts that love you To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Silent are the tears that fall Tasks left undone must stay that way Living without you is the hardest part of all I found that peace at the close of day. You did so many things for us If my parting has left a void Your heart was so kind and true Then fill it with remembered joy. And when we needed someone A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss We could always count on you Oh yes, these things I too will miss. The special years will not return Be not burdened with times of sorrow When we are all together I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. But with the love in our hearts My life’s been full, I savoured much You walk with us forever. Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Miss me a little - but not too long, and not with your head bowed low, Remember the love that we once shared, miss me - but let me go. For this is a journey that we all must take, and each must go alone. It’s all a part of the Master’s plan, a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know. And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds, miss me - but let me go. You Were A Precious Gift You were a precious gift, Our joy, our dreams. You were a sparkle through the darkness; Our hope for a brighter tomorrow. You warmed our hearts, gave light to our minds, And beauty to our spirits. We gave you our love, wrapped you in our care, caressed you with our smiles. Now you are gone. We grieve. We miss you so much. The loving memories of you will keep you Forever close to us - in our hearts, our thoughts, our souls.... Unknown Unknown Unknown Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee God wanted me now; He set me free.  Unknown You Can Shed Tears That He Is Gone Memories In The Heart You can shed tears that he is gone Or you can smile because he lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back Or you can open your eyes and see all he’s left. Feel no guilt in laughter, she knows how much you care Feel no sorrow in a smile that she’s not here to share You cannot grieve forever, she would not want you to She’d hope that you can carry on, the way you always do Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him Or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. So talk about the good times and the ways you showed you cared The days you spent together, all the happiness you shared Let memories surround you. You can remember him and only that he’s gone Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back Or you can do what he’d want - smile, open your eyes, love and go on. A word someone may say Will suddenly recapture a time, an hour, a day That brings her back as clearly as though she were still here And fills you with the feelings that she is always near For if you keep these moments, you will never be apart David Harkins And she will live forever locked safe within your heart.
