Greene County Regional Airport

GREENE COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT ( FAA LID : 3J7 ) is a county-owned public-use airport located three nautical miles ( 6 km ) northeast of the central business district of Greensboro , a city in Greene County , Georgia , United States . As per the FAA ’ s National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2009-2013 , it is classified as a general aviation airport . It is proximately 34 miles southeast of Athens and 47 miles west of Thomson . The primary highway access to the Airport from the west and southeast is via US Highway 278 and Georgia Highway 12 . Other highways in the vicinity include Interstate 20 and Georgia Highway 15 . The Airport , situated on 131 acres , is owned and operated by Greene County . The Airport accommodates a variety of aviation-related activities that include recreational flying , agricultural spraying , police / law enforcement .
GREENE COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT HAS BEEN ASSIGNED TO LEVEL II WITHIN THE GEORGIA AIRPORT SYSTEM .
