One exciting subject that was discussed is the commencement of planning for Party in the Park. This event was one of the committees biggests successes for 2012. Their hopes are to expand on this event. The Multicultural Committee is excited to have a successful year. 2013 Goals & Projects (Continued From Page Six) adding additional sculptures and statues throughout the downtown district • Work with the downtown business and property owners to identify and promote all the historic properties that exist within the downtown historic district, as well as hosting a variety of activities to celebrate National Historic Preservation Month in May • Continue to work with and provide assistance to downtown business and property owners on improving their historical buildings Promotion: • Host a variety of events throughout the year including the Main Street Festival in June, Main Street’s Ultimate Tailgate Party in September, Trickor-Treat on Main Street in October, and Santa's House in December • Continue to promote the downtown district through a monthly marketing campaign, as ewll as looking into other promotional avenues including the Downtown Rack Card Economic Restructuring: • Conduct a variety of activities to better understand the downtown market, including implementing additional Intercept Surveys throughout town, surveying the downtown business owners, and hosting a variety of meetings to help address different issues facing downtown business and property owners • Develop and implement a business and developer recruitment strategy including researching comparable communities, promoting vacant properties within the downtown district, and developing a packet of information that would help attract developers for second-story housing in ѡ
