HUTCHINSON REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER HOSTS FIRST COURSE EVENT Hutchinson, KS – Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, a member of the Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System, will host First Course, a free, public educational event, on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. Oksana Anand, M.D., a Gastroenterologist with the Hutchinson Clinic, will discuss gastro-esophageal reflux disease, otherwise known as heartburn, during the presentation and question and answer session. Dr. Anand’s presentation will cover the risks of living with untreated heartburn, tips on how to manage the disease, and available treatment options. First Course will be held in the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center Pavilion, with doors opening at 4:45 pm, hors d’oeuvres served at 5:00 pm, and the presentation beginning at 5:30 pm. Dr. Anand attended medical school at Omsk State Medical Academy, Russia. She then completed both an internal medicine residency and a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, KS. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology. Dillon Living Center. HUTCHINSON REGIONAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM CONTRACTS WITH NEW KANCARE HEALTHPLANS Hutchinson, KS - Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System today announced that they have finalized agreements with two new KanCare health plans – AmeriGroup of Kansas and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Kansas to provide services for Medicaid consumers. Kevin Miller, Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System President and CEO, explained that, “we entered into a provider agreement with Sunflower State Health Plan late in 2012. By entering into agreements with Amerigroup and UnitedHealthcare, our healthcare system will continue to be a participating provider for all KanCare participants throughout 2013.” “We are very pleased that we have been able to develop agreements with all 3 of the state’s KanCare health plans, and that their members will be able to receive health care services at Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System,” said Miller. Dodge City Country Club The Dodge City Country Club has a lot of noteworthy news, most notably, the new managing staff. New to the staff are the new General Manager and COO, Senthil Elangovan, the new dining room manager, Ashley Wetmore, new pool manager, Valerie Cunningham, and new golf pro, Ron Cash. Samantha Hall has been promoted to head Chef and a new Summer Children’s Day Camp Program is in the works which will be run by Allison Cofer. Shirley Summers and Jeff Kippes are still at the Club doing what they do best: accounting and grounds. The dining room has seen a lot of changes these past weeks with a Pasta Bar on Wednesday nights and Fish Station and Seafood on Friday nights. New this month will be a Taco Bar on Thursday nights. The new Sunday Brunch has been steadily growing in attendance by members and we hope to continue this growth! Members, please stop by to meet our new staff and enjoy the new dining experiences! Jim Haines Jr. joins the Sunflower Bank Board of Directors SALINA, Kan., March 13, 2013 – Mollie Hale Carter, President & CEO of Sunflower Bank, a regional community bank, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Haines, Jr. of Lawrence, Kansas, to the bank’s board of directors. Mr. Haines joins the board with a long history of professional accomplishments and community involvement. Haines is currently a Director of Allette, Inc. and a Clark Distinguished Professor of Business at Washburn University. He began his career as Assistant Attorney General in Missouri after graduating from law school at the University of Missouri and, shortly thereafter, began a distinguished career in the utility industry.
