was one of the stops on the transatlantic journey between
New York and Southampton, England. The service began in
1939.

The construction of the Humphrey’s golf course started in 1903 in a
field close to the Humphrey Woolen Mill. Two brothers, Thomas and
Gib Buckham, came up with the idea. The course continued
operation until 1916.
