surgery, ably performed by Dr. Michael E. Forsythe. My complete recovery from that allowed me to resume my outdoor pursuits with no limitations. I have been truly blessed and might I add that although there can sometimes be long wait times, I wish to heartily endorse our Healthcare System for treating me successfully for all three of these major health problems, in a timely, professional manner. In the immortal words of Yakov Smirnoff, What a country!!! I have been working for the last 15 years at a job that I truly love. I began working at the Hopewell Rocks as an interpreter and after two years became the manager of the department. I am still in that position and we have seen our visitation rise from 160,000 visitors a season to 305,000 visitors in 2017. The job stimulated me to become heavily involved in other areas in the region as well. I was on the board of directors of Cape Enrage for many years and I am currently the vice-chairman of the UNESCO Fundy Biosphere Reserve. I have served in varying capacities (including president for three years) on the executive of the Moncton Outdoor Enthusiasts. I also wrote a column in the Moncton T&T for 10 years called Take a Hike. I hope that somewhere in here my story may stimulate, caution, or help in some way. Each of us has a story to tell, some may be more exciting, humorous or more or less meaningful than others but all are pertinent in some way to someone. If I have learned anything about my life in this fourth quarter it is to remain “On the Move” …. Maybe you should too. (Editor’s note: For this issue I requested a short autobiography from our quarterly author of On the Move as I believe Paul’s life story is in line with our active living theme) Paul at three sisters Waterfront Ocean view rooms 8591 Main St., Alma, NB [email protected] 1 866 887-2052 Open June to October SPRING/PRINTEMPS 2019 PrimeTime 17
