Where the number of applications is greater than the planned admission number , applications will be considered against the criteria set out below .
After the allocation of children with an EHC plan , the admission criteria will be applied in the following order of priority :
1 . Children who are looked after or were previously looked after - A ‘ looked after child ’ or a child who was previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption , child arrangements order , or special guardianship order . ( See below for definitions of children who are looked after or were previously looked after ).
2 . Siblings attending Dormers Wells Infant School or Dormers Wells Junior School - Children with a brother or sister attending either school at the time of admission ( see below for definition of sibling ).
3 . Where the child is a pupil at Dormers Wells Infant School at the time of application .
Tie Break in the event that the distances are equal a random allocation will be made .
Twins , triplets or other children from multiple births Where one of the siblings is the thirtieth child the other siblings will be admitted .

Your child will be placed on a waiting list if no place is available at the time of application . Children will be admitted in the order of the admissions criteria . Waiting lists will be cancelled in July for unplaced pupils unless they refresh their application in July , have applied after the 1st June or have sibling-link within Dormers Wells Junior School .

4 . Exceptional medical or social need – Children for whom it is essential to be admitted to Dormers Wells Infant or Junior School because of exceptional medical and / or social needs of the child or their parent ( s ) / carer ( s ), ( see below for definitions of definitions of medical or social needs ).
5 . Children of staff of the school – Children where their parent ( s ) has been employed by the Academy Trust at the school , for at least two years at the date of application for admission or where the member of staff has been recruited to a vacant post where there is a demonstrable skills shortage ( see below for definition of parent ).
6 . Distance from home to school - Places are allocated to applicants who live closest to the school . This must be the address where parent and child normally live and they must be living there on the closing date for receipt of applications .
