Picta Dicta series
Benefits In the teacher view of the Picta Dicta online platform , I can monitor student progress on lessons and campaigns . A campaign in Picta Dicta is a digital exercise in game format . Each campaign takes about three minutes to complete , and is given an accuracy score . Students can return to older lessons for a higher score – resulting in an improvement in their Latin skills . Eventually , Picta Dicta will include quizzes , though a teacher can always assign a campaign as an assessment .
When our school returns to in-person learning , the Picta Dicta program can be used projected in the classroom or on a personal device at home to complement another curriculum .
I am also still developing strategies for differentiating learning in my classroom . If a student falls behind in Latin , they still need to finish each campaign and receive credit for the completed lesson . This requires some rethinking about the program as a whole and how to help the struggling learner best .

Paradigms encourages late-elementary and middleschool students to associate noun and verb endings with actual meaning through hilarious illustration-based exercises .

Dicta , provide outstanding support to teachers . Griffith himself offered training and support for teachers via Zoom and quickly responds to questions or issues a teacher might have .
To Consider While learning remotely at our school , students typically are using Zoom during school hours ( 8 a . m . to 3 p . m .). Because our school used technology on a limited basis prior to the pandemic , there has been a transition to more screen time for our students . We are still adapting to the change in screen time , and I often work with families to help establish new habits for their child ’ s device usage .
